How old is too young to sell to?

Recommended Posts

So I was training at a gym last night I don't normally go to - was approached by a group of young guys that were happy to share their experience in training and their AAS use. Both were under 18 years of age - back when I first got into training AAS was a little more discrete/less attainable - these days its a bit more mainstream. Just goes to show the pressure on young men now to fulfill their distorted view of what they think young females are looking for in their physiques.

We discussed product and recommendations they had gotten from the guy that supplies them - the information seemed pretty sound but I'm surprised an experienced bodybuilder would supply guys soo young. You often hear how drug dealers push mainstream drugs to teenagers and the bad rap they get as a result (in their own circles).

Anyway I found this video online which profiles this quite well - some of the content is ill-informed but its true to the level of knowledge these guys have in relation to their training.

Firstly keen to discuss .... secondly to pose the question ... how old is too young to be selling gear to someone.

Back in my day I would regularly get approached for gear - young guys would see me training and I would always tell them to hold out a bit longer if they were under 20 - seems like the boundaries have changed a lot.

12 is too young

A teen in the gym told me outright he can buy dodgy gear, and on-sell it to his mates for a sweet $50 profit. He doesn't even think twice about it, just sees money first and mates last LOL nice one

And whether it's taking gear, driving, drinking, whatever...teenagers screw up doing most things so it depends on the morals of the dealer really. (They're dealing they have no morals LOL)

Teens will roll under pressure so would have thought they're a liability to dealers regardless of the "promises" they make to keep their mouths shut. It's cool to know a dealer but if your mates don't know that you know one, there's no coolness so of course they tell everyone.

the mentality i often see from dealers (AAS and otherwise) is that if they don't get it from me they will just get it somewhere else. I'd rather have their dollar then someone else.

lets say I was a dealer, and i had 16year old approach me for the sweet sause. Lets say he was training hard had a good worth ethic and was in control of his diet. I wouldn't hestitate selling him my finest batch of Lupi. anyone over 18 gets the real deal.

hahahahaha :pfft:

you're just looking after his best interest and Lupi is better for a 16y/o, repped

Interesting thread... I know what you mean though Opti, back in the glorious old days (LOL) even guys who had been at it for years struggled to get hook ups. Guys do ask me sometimes but very rarely, I must be mean looking or something.

Cracks me up how every bugger rips everyone else off... think 20 years ago what happened when guys sold fake gear lol...

As for age, I guess it's like anything... it's individual.

I think if they are under 18 it's wrong. Loool at lupi

This.

There's just no need for it that young (try telling them that though)

And can't it actually be detrimental in terms of height growth for young uns? I heard it can interfere with epiphyseal plates, and therefore growth of the long bones, or is that broscience?

Spose they could take some GH as well j/k :pfft:

It's supposed to harden the ends of bones, they did a study and the rise in testosterone first accelerats bone growth and then depletes the source of stem cells...where the growth in length occurs....in sheep

Solid factual internet science not bro science found right here: http://jas.fass.org/content/72/10/2629.full.pdf

Not that interesting but here's a research title that stands out:

"Testosterone has opposite effects on male growth in lizards (Sceloporus spp.) with opposite patterns of sexual size dimorphism."

I would start asking questions if my 17 yr old suddenly grew faster than me.

Anyone selling my kids gear or anything heavier than pot gets knee surgery. I have a degree under the 'concerned parent' clause of life.

I am no hypocrite. He can do what he wants when he has the life experience to back it up.

But aas to teenagers... shit. As Android said earlier, they screw EVERYTHING up.

And yes, they will roll over if caught. No backbones

This is heading to epidemic proportions as the Zyzz & Aesthetics Cults crank up. The belief that a drug can be the short cut to hard work without any real regard to one's health & wellbeing is misguided but regrettably fueled by unscrupulous dealers & gym buddies.

agree mate - when you think about it - the fact it isn't legal puts more people at risk. If it was available like it is in the uk for personal use then I'm not sure we would be seeing the potential problems as young guys could at least ensure they are getting solid advice and quality.

Ibelieve the Olympic commitee and WADA are putting pressure on the uk to ban it entirely ahead of the olympics. Very small minded - safe/recreational/supplimentary controlled use is better than and open underground market where people feel comfortable stitching each other up of $50.

This is the same with most drugs though - teenagers shouldnt take them as they are likely to abuse or misuse them. They often do not understand how they can effect their mind and body in the short and long term. Still I think due to the price, the fear of pinning, and the media hype regarding the side effects would scare most of them off.

The UK isnt looking into banning steroids (as far as I know) but they are banning other legal substances at the moment - some are already banned in NZ, some are not. It is a bit of overkill if you ask me......check out the list;

Ephedra, Yohimbe, Sida Cordifolia, Milk Thistle, Coleus Forskolii, Carulluma, Evodia, Tribulus, White Willow, 1,3 Dimethylamylamine, Synephrine, Salix Alba, GABA

There is a few others as well
