I have poor form deadlifting just wondering is hex deadlifting better to do or conventional deadlift?? I want to really want to hit my my lower back hard with my hamstring workout. I usually get a sore lower back from conventional deadlift as well

Girlie question - if I want to add either straight-leg/normal deads on an upper body day (say 4x 8?) how many times a week can I do it?? 've read only once, but I'd like to do twice - 2x pump, 2x upper a week and maIybe swap one session out for boxfit - I'm pretty happy with me legs but wanna work upper more (shoulders/back) thoughts??

- hmmmm started thread on this but cant delete this post!!

How many times a week do you deadlift? Whats your 1RM? You say that you want to hit your lower back hard, then you go on to say that you want to do hex deadlifts to avoid giving your lower back grief???

Avoiding deadlifts isn't going to improve your deadlift form.

I heard hex deadlifting is better for lower back not so much strain on it and I'm not new to training in the gym far from it, its all about finding different exercises that a best suited for that individual. what works for you may not work for me. When I trained with my mate who knows everything there is to know in the gym he made sure my form was correct doing conventional deadlift my max was 140kgs, now I train by myself I want to make sure my form is correct everytime.

So far from being new to the gym ? With a Deadlift max of 140kg ?

I have personally trained a few people who can deadlift 140kg within 6 months of starting strength training, this is pretty common. And these people still have need for advice on regular occasions. So why don't you take some of the help that is being given to you from people who can deadlift a hell of a lot more than you..

hmmm have to agree that a 140kg deadlift is pretty average, especially if youve been training a while. when i first started deads 9 months ago i could get a few reps of 160, now i can get 5-6 reps of 220.

what is hex deadlifts though? is it using a hex bar/hex plates or something?

Also, maybe the pain is from the back pump (Go 'The Dave')

If you haven't deadlifted you haven't lifted! Just my opinion I suppose? Also just my opinion but those hex lifts ain't much more than partial squats by the look of them. If you want to train your lower back you need to articulate it.

(Ignore me though I train alone with no expert help in the gym)
