Hi just a stupid question,

I heard once a week for a little bit is ok.

how much is a little bit?

if i eat too much cheat meal at once, it will just undo my workouts for the week I think.

thanks

cheat meals are just to stop cravings

if you're not craving anything at the end of the week, i wouldn't bother tbh

some people have cheat days, some have cheat meals (1 meal in the whole week). I usually order pizza for my cheat meal, some are really high in protein, can go up to 80g in a large pizza, just read the nutritional info on the site

mc dz is a good choice for cheat meals, high in protein too.

the cheat meals you should stay away from are like bag of chips, chocolate etc.. IMO. i'd rather have a high protein source cheat meal like what i suggested above

Personally I think they make cravings worse & make dieting harder.

I don't have cheat meals until after the show. Unless you believe the increased calories are beneficial in some way, why would you do anything that wasn't inline with what you'd set out to achieve.

I'd hate to lose a close decision on stage & think if I hadn't had that pizza 2 weeks ago.....

really?

I thought I was re-feeding my body.

To make cardio and fatloss more effective I go into calorie deficit. At some point though calorie deficit week after week makes working out and keeping size impossible by the very definition of a "deficit", and what helps make your muscles big and strong are...carbs and water.

I disagree that it's just for cravings.

It;s prolly the one reason why Nate you should carb-up before the show...if you're in calorie and carb deficit all the way into a show to help you lose fat you need to fill those muscles up otherwise you'll look ripped, small, and hungry...just a thought

Carb up vs Cheat meal is a different conversation.

Agreed tho Android tho caution re: spilling over. For some its a toss up between being full, watery & smooth vs shredded and flat, luckily I got it right last time so shouldn't be a big drama?

PS - you should see the stash of chocolate I have for after the show...bought another 10 marshmellow easter eggs last nite to add to the bag of goodies! Hopefully I can find some hot cross buns & butter for my delayed Easter! :pfft:

I've still got alot to learn and try out, but talk so Supry about spilling over. He drinks more water than anyone I know backstage...I asked him about it.

Given you are depleted with water, spilling over is not an issue is what I picked up from him. He then drinks before going on stage, just before pumping up. Drinking and then pumping up pulls the water into the muscle cells (hence the pump) and doesn't affect the dry look on stage.

I haven't tried, he obviously does alot of comps and can try various things that work for him...

You cant "undo" a weeks workouts with one meal bro. As long as it is really just one meal and not a day/weekend long binge with beers and as much shit as you can cram down your head.

I moved 2 large pizzas and a bowl of icecream on Sunday night and no change in the mirror, scale or lifts (well, no change in weight once I'd condemned the toilet that is)

no offence to you seasoned/competitive bodybuilders, with all due respect but OP isn't a competitive BBer, nor would I say the average joe wouldn't have the level of experience you guys have, or the mental focus it takes to diet 12, 16 weeks with no junk food. That takes a certain level of expertise. For the average joe, having a cheat meal or cheat day is a good thing when they are on a cut. So long as that cheat is planned.

If we eat ready made meals regularly, then it can be dangerous to wellness. Foods like dinner, wafers, pastries, chicken wings etc. lack healthy value. They are lacking in natural vitamins, proteins and/or nutrients, but loaded with salt and other dangerous preservatives. This results in illnesses like diabetic issues, being overweight, heart issues, blocked bloodstream, reduced cuboid strength and many other medical related issues. For someone who takes in these in excess, it may lead to level of acidity and liver organ failing due to the large quantities of fat, salt and oil in it. so better be aware of it louis

People are going to read this and and be misled.

Please define 'healthy value'.

Explain how chicken wings lack protein?

How is salt a dangerous preservative? Salt is essential to human life. Just a few weeks ago drinking water combined with a lack of salt got very close to causing me serious harm. >4g of salt per day has not done this nor has it adversely impacted on my blood pressure or other measurables.

How will the olive oil I just poured over a pizza impact on my health?? No health professional on earth can can meaningfully answer that question because they lack the specifics of my activities and overall diet.

And that is the problem. You can't just list risk factors for a bunch of health issues and tell someone to avoid those things. That is straight up dangerous.

Edit: oh stink he was banned before I could figure out how to block his posts. ah well
