HCG drops

And what is the pharmacology behind the hcg and weight loss? I doubt that a significant difference would be seen from placebo in terms of weight loss or keeping the weight off with cals that low, even if injected. Next to nothing in the real literature about sublingual bioavailabilty either. I wouldn't be surprised if they put some kind of appetite suppressant in some of the drops though, if anything at all...

Sorry but as a pharmacologist, I just don't see it having a significant effect. It's gotta be the several thousand calorie deficit

You know D, I doubted this as much as you. I have no idea what the pharmacology of hcg in a homeopathic drop form is. All I know is I have seen it work with at least 10 people. Believe it or not, but it does suppress appetite & it also holds them together mentally during the stages of use somehow. If followed strictly to the letter, the maintenance stage can work well too, which is the downfall period of most crash diets.

Well if they are homeopathic drops then there is no drug in them and so there's your answer

This is what they claim :

"HCG drops can be found all over the internet, but you want to make sure you are getting Physician Grade official HCG homeopathic drops that are made in the USA. Our HCG drops are manufactured in the USA at a FDA-certified facility. Our HCG homeopathic mixture includes Fat Metabolizers to help supply the body with needed Amino Acids and to break down fat. Our homeopathic HCG formulation is also the ONLY one in the world that includes the additional supporting ingredients of Vitamin B12, Mag-Phos Cell Salts, and Nat-Phos Cell Salts. These bonus ingredients help boost energy levels, counteract muscle cramping, reduce constipation, and further assimilate fat content.

The concentration of the homeopathic HCG drops is also very important when you decide to purchase HCG. Our formula has a concentration of 3x,6x,12x,30x,60x - the best HCG drops concentration available in the industry!"

What do you think D?

"HCG drops can be found all over the internet, but you want to make sure you are getting Physician Grade official HCG homeopathic drops [that's an oxymoron right there] that are made in the USA. Our HCG drops are manufactured in the USA at a FDA-certified facility [this just means that they are certified to prepare food/supplements for sale, NOT that the FDA has approved homeopathic hcg for weight loss or anything like that]. Our HCG homeopathic mixture includes Fat Metabolizers to help supply the body with needed Amino Acids and to break down fat [in general, ingredients labelled as "fat metabolizers" don't do jack. Seems like they have added a minute amount of some amino or mix of aminos]. [whoopdy doo, that's worth ~$300....]

Our formula has a concentration of 3x,6x,12x,30x,60x - the best HCG drops concentration available in the industry!" [This is simply homeopathy nonsense. In homeopathy the higher the number the stronger the "energy signature". It's just quackery bro]

My take on it in red...

Homeopathy is garbage in itself, and this whole HCG diet industry has picked up on the tenuous (if any actual) evidence of the original hcg diet research and found a way to make it mass-marketable by removing the needle from the equation, and by going homeopathic, actually removing the drug from the equation too so it's cheaper and more legal for them to sell. No needles or actual drug = no regulatory requirements, no doctors, no scripts, etc, etc.

These people are now eating in a 2,000 - 5,000 calorie deficit and are fuelled on by the "science", slick marketing hype and dramatic results of others.

Yes this diet will make you lose weight without fail but it is not particularly healthy, it is not sustainable, it doesn't really teach proper eating habits and it has nothing to do with hcg when "homeopathic drops" are involved.

A strong placebo effect coupled with (essentially) eating one meal per day can have dramatic results...

  • 8 months later...

Seems to me if this was HCG would bodybuilders not have already tried to use it during or after cycle or is it more expensive than real HCG and pointless to try lol. Gotta wonder though if it's a placebo effect holding these people together on 500 calories per day?
