hitting a vein

hey guys ive read on other sites that if youve hit a vein when you asparate the blood will go into the syringe. when i asparate the blood will just sit in the little colored bit of the needle where it attatches to the syringe. does this mean im in a vein? maybe just passed through one?

It you keep pulling and it keeps coming up, then it is a vein.

If you pull and it stays a vacuum, and doesnt keep coming up, then good chance it was caught on the way through. good to go.
