Hi guys, I found i have bursitis in my shoulder.

when I tried to lift I got impingement and pain.. went to get a scan done and it showed bursitis..

the doc says the only cure is light weights and time.. maybe months...

does any one have any tips to hurry things along...

I dont want to wait months before I can start doing heavy weights again...

Can I go heavy on anything that doesnt hurt? Just back off when i start to feel pain?

any tips please anyone???

Hydrocortisone injection under ultrasound is useful to settle them down.

cheers, I had the cortizone, the like a friggen idiot tried pushing too much...

Asked doc for another cortizone but he said no..

I thought you could have up to 3 in the one area over a period of 3 months or so... Or something like that..

he's saying no more, just wait it out.. :-(

Im doing light rotator cuff stuff but thats no fun... :(

^ This

I had it before and had to pretty just do lower body for a while after I took the cortisone... sort of had it happen again 2 months ago it's getting better now but just have to be extra careful with it (gotta warm up the shoulders before doing upper body stuff, got to avoid upright rows, and when benching I have to beat the shit out of the shoulder and massage it so it's numb :/)

but the smart choice would be to use light weights for a while/see a physio

I have this atm bro have not trained for 2 months. Tried to train through it but it got progressively worse. Went to a myotherpaist before i knew what it was at $60 a session x 4 sessions until he finally told me to go to the doc - jerk.

Am on second prescription of voltaren and it still hurts... Going to go get the cortizone shot soon and hopefully thats the end of it. The voltaren has helped but i sit at a desk all day and its propped up which causes a dull ache all day frigging annoying.

Have gained a ton of fat and feel like shit not training. Basically just been getting pissed instead in my time off lol

voltaren is toy medicine.. does jack for me..

I found a prescript of anti inflammatories in my draw... Cant even remember being prescribed them. They worked incredibly well. Pain just dissapeared..

I went back to the doc to get some more, he said pharmac no longer fund them or supply them or what ever.. He gave me some other crap that was as hopeless as voltaren..

I found typing, lying or sitting postures seem to really flare up the problem..

cortizone works amazingly well..

Just a shame I got to greedy with the weights too quickly and am now back to square one... :-(

If its under acc, see if you can get the cortizone done while under the scan.

That way they can be sure exactly where its going.. You dont want it going in to a tendon as cortizone is degenerative..
