ling. wut do?

ok so turns out i got 6kg of ling fillets in the freezer.

for those not aware its an eel like fish from the sea:

all i can say is groce. has skin on still...wtf am i sposed to do with this shit? does anybody here actually eat it?

It's not bad, similar to red cod or deep sea cod whatever you want to call it

you better not be trolling me. i used to work on fishing boat and this was like the grocest looking fish that we kept. the skin and even the meat has a funnt soft/slimy texture. will try some tonight and post up how it was.

If you don't like the texture/flavour of the fillets on their own then make fish cakes.

You can make some pretty tasty high-protein fish cakes with even average fish.

This is actually one of the most ordered fish in restaurants that I know off. It is a brilliant deep sea fish. I'd smash it.

I think it is called "KingKlip" in some other countries, very sought after.

fuarrrk. just took a fillet out of the shatter-pack. now my hands stink. not a normal fishy smell either. something worse.

cooking it up now. hardly fits in my oven.

finally cooked. just chucked it in the oven frozen cooking at 200 degrees celcius. has a mild flavour, great texture. pleasantly surprised.
