where to buy oly plates?

need to buy 6ish more plates and want to get some good quality ones that can be thrown round and dropped what would you guys recommend?

Just my suggestion bro but I'd get 2x20 bumper plates - the big wide ones like these:

Then make up the other with smaller plates like this:

Reasons for saying this is wide ones bounce well when you dump them after Oly lifts, but too many take up too much room on bar. Putting cast plates on with bumpers not ideal as can take the edges off the bumper.

Works well for Magpies gym Oly set up anyway.

Ask Danomyte, Stas or Wookie - they may know someone with second hand Oly stuff?

Yeah man, agree with Nates advice.

Buying bumpers can be expensive - so depends on your budget. I remember Gillies Ave were getting rid of some old plates - Wookie might know.

Re Grays gym auction. i brought some stuff. a lot of the stuff went cheap, and some stuff didnt. End price was 15% BUYERS FEE PLUS 15% GST. Time frame was hard, one day for pickup otherwise you forfeit the goods.

I just took delivery of 8 x 25kg rubber coated oly plates from No1 Fitness in Chch - weighed each one and they are all pretty much bang on - with .25kg. All very uniform and no marks or damage.
