just been watching some of the old footage Ive collected as a kid and Warren was presented the title by big Lou Ferigno. He had to beat out some good competition including Mark Stewart.

Anyone know which years NABBA's "Bodybuilder of the Decade" John Brooks won? About 6 from memory?

I also know that John Lucky from OZ won the nzfbb title I thought in the early 90's

Good stuff Nate that will really help things along. I cant believe we're the first to establish this 'honours board'. These guys should (and deserve to) go down in the history books for being New Zealands no 1 bodybuilder competing in their respective year.

I'm pretty sure when I was there on the night they were handed the trophy! :pfft: :grin:

Anyway to avoid having to make judgement calls, e.g. if X was disqualified then Y would've won, and have others say Z would've been in overall line up and won if X hadn't won his class, or Y would've tested positive as well if he won, I think we'll stick with the man who got the trophy on the night!

Agreed. I mean you can if all you like but as we know in the overall lineup only the overall title winner is announced... so we go with that.

Gasp came up with a new one can you add Allan 'Al' Hobman

In October 1951, he won the New Zealand body building title in Christchurch by taking the best back, best chest, best arms and muscular physique sections. Fed ? did they even have more than one fed back then?

Pretty sure if your making a recording and someone has been disqualified then they shouldn't be recorded as the winner... If you want to make Mickey mouse records then ok.

They two tour winners u named aren't recorded as winners they recorded as disqualified.

If an overall title winner is disqualified after the competition is the title then not awarded that year? or can they go to the score cards to look for next in line.

Well I can tell you first hand that if the guy who wins fails the guy who came second doesn't get a call lol... But it's a moot point cos really I just want the trophy on the night, there's no publishing of names of guys who failed and it's all kept very quiet. Although the winner is asked to return his trophy.

Thats why I kept this limited to Bodybuilding in the purest sense, and only mens list cos researching the early comps was hard enough without doubling it!
