"Vague" cycle from GP question.

To cut to the chase, have multiple injuries over the years from accidents. My GP is considering after quarter zone injections, physio, surgery various scripts etc etc to put me on a cycle of some form of Steroid.

Now he has mentioned Anabolic, but there is no name that has been given. I am not wanting to use it for bulking or gaining mass muscle - any attributed fat loss would be good, but aiming for muscular/bone assistance to help fasten/strengthen repair.

In advance sorry if this is all vague, I have done some reading and research, but unsure really what my Doctor is going to give me yet; which brings me here for some advice.

- What should I be looking to take to help muscle repair/rebuild

- Is there anything that would assist with fat burn too

- This is getting done from a GP, not a Mens Clinic (I know a fair bit about them from friends)

- Any further advice about what to discuss with my GP

- Human Growth Hormone (From what I have read) is not an option in New Zealand apparently; is this true for a financial aspect to public health via GP visits?

I have read up about various side effects, but would seek advice prior to getting what the GP would give me, as I am unsure exactly what "Range" they have to prescribe over what you could get in other forms or mens clinics (Maybe more options).

Lastly, exercise I do is more cardio, I do basic weights nothing big/heavy - any tips on what a GP may give to get the full benefits. Sorry its 2am, too much coffee and curious to post after reading for a while.

Thanks,

Stan.

Without knowing more about your background & conditions, it's hard to give you much advise other than to say that there is a wealth of information on here if you care to search through threads. Has your GP done hormone blood tests? If he prescribes you some form of AAS HRT then that would maybe assist your recovery & mental state. However, do not let him prescribe you a glucocorticoid like Prednisone as long term they can be very catabolic to muscle mass & the side effects are not good.

How old are you? Might give some indication as to whether or not your doctor is planning on prescribing you AAS or a glucocorticoid. There is very limited scope in which GPs could prescribe AAS other than for hormone replacement therapy. So unless you are a candidate for HRT then it is more likely that he is planning on giving you something else.
