hmm well a few times ive heard hissing which is almost as loud as the air-brake noise of a truck. on every rep too, not even heavy. it isn't like a grunt or quiet exhaling hiss, but seems like they're making a big conscious effort to hiss as loudly as possible.

once i started doing it too, taking the piss, when the dude was next to me, and he left the gym lol

I don't see a problem with it, though. I find it helps. There are some exercises, where it's completely unnecessary. But I don't shout to get attention, I shout at myself, to tell myself I can, and to make gains. At the end of the day, if I can grab those extra 2 or 3 reps, I'm gonna grow more, than if I didn't get those reps.

You can take the piss out of Meataxe all you want, but now many people that are taking the piss are bigger than him? Now I'm not doing the whole, "Don't mock someone if they're better than you." But... actually, yeah I am.

But it's all on the individual. I'll only do it on my last set though, when I'm giving it my all, not on warm up, and working sets leading up the final set. Some do it, just because it's natural (which is the case for me) and other do it to grab attention, but yelling their lungs out with 12kilo dumbbells on chest press.

Sure, I'll probably laugh at some guy struggling with a 60 kilo squat, who's yelling to get the weight up, but, it's relatively heavy for the individual. It's like if SG were to look at me only getting 6 reps of 180 on squats, and he just thinking, "lolfaggot. I can do more than 20." But again, it's all on the individual.

I'm not getting defensive because I do it, I'm just giving an inside view.

If it's loud as phuck, I'd expect to see some heavy weights being moved...if not and it's some skinny phagg doing half reps on the bench press I smile and get on with what it is I walked into the gym to do. I try not to pay attention..try not lol.

I find the noise you make on the last rep of a heavy DL or Squat is synonymous with that made during the last stroke before orgasm. If your noisy, then your just dam noisy. :pfft:

Dear god how do I delete that thought??

Because only massive people lifting heavy weights put in a huge amount of effort right.......

what is your thought on this kind of behavior? alot of it i see as unnecessary but i still appreciate what these guys are trying to do. is it acceptable to you?

do you really need to SCREAM an yell?

wouldn't bug me..

The headbangings a bit over the top, but then I guess if that's what it takes him to get fired up.. And looks like he's in the right gym for it.

Seen far worse things than that in the gym.

Today seen a P.T. that was hugely overweight. Why would anyone want to hire or ask advice of a huge lard ass? Yet she was training some one.

Seen another one the other day that really takes the cake for stupidity.

Two guys walk in to the gym. They start loading up the bench press.

6x20kg a side.

One guy gets under the bar, the other guys stands in the middle of the bar, (spotting position for very light weights only) and puts a set of support straps on, then proceeds to wrap them around the middle of the bar and stands there ready to take the weight if the person bench pressing drops it.

Just had me shaking my head... Crazy mofo's.
