Got a bit of an injured deltoid. Was just wondering, do you guys normally rest it for a week or so? It is still functioning but painful when doing shoulder press and military press, more so when doing press behind neck.

I've been lowering the weights but am thinking now that I will be giving it a week rest before I really mess it up.

Is a week enough to get it going again?

You may have damaged your rotator cuff in which case I reccomend resting it. I tried to train through the pain of mine and it got progressively worse. My advice give it 3 weeks, return to gym and if it still hurts go for an MRI scan and see a myotherpist ( in that order ).

At the moment i'm still training but saving friday for light chest and tris and no shoulders at all.

Sweet, will give it a go. Going to start with a week first as I have only entered my 7th week of training, can't afford to take off three weeks now, hopefully it is just the muscle.

Have to say that this is the shoulder after a pretty serious motorcycle accident 10 years ago. haha.

So yea, I'm just resting a whole week (gym is moving premises from thursday as well and will be closed till Sunday) and hopefully will be back stronger next monday.
