If you look on the far right of the main page you'll see a link to the NABBA taranaki show on March 10 (3 weeks away).

Do it bro, you won't regret it and the experience and contacts you'll gain.

That is near perfect. So if i turned 20 in Sep i'm not eligible for junior, but i can enter novice?

Any idea of the size of this particular comp?

Check with the promoters but yeah you'll probably be Novice.

Novice is broken up into Athletic and physique. Your class depends what your height/weight is. Check with The rules.

I would imagine there might be a few other novice men, but not that many do the early year shows. But don't worry about that, you're just Doing it for yourself.

Good luck and there's lots of guys here who can guide you through the last few weeks prep if u need help.

yeah i assume i'll be athletic since i'm small. mhmm yeah i've been cutting for a while now anyway, but i'm deff not ready to step on stage, still probably like 9-10%. Need to look into water cycling and whatnot i guess

Dont assume you'll be athletic, the cutoff weight is really low (i'd have to drop 30kg to make that class lol).

They are really only for the extremely ripped guys, you look like you're packing a bit of size so you'll need to diet like crazy and drop as much water as possible to get there. That's all possible if you are keen it as I said check the requirements on the NABBA website.

To be honest alot of the novice classes have guys around the 7-8% mark (even higher in the physique classes) anyway. So come in as lean and dry as you can and I think you'll go well. You've got killer arms and chest so if nothing else you might pick up a few Numbers :pfft: (not SRS, bodybuilding comps aren't like that lol).

It would be good to have more time to get ready but hopefully you'll learn from your first comp and go on for more throughout the year. So start dieting hard and work on your posing.

Hey nzheredder, good stuff you wanna compete. As SG said its going to be a great experience. And once you get used to the budgie smugglers, you're not going to want to come off the stage

Athletic class: Your height in cm's - 100 + 2= the max weight in kg permited. ie if you're 178cm, your max weight allowd is 80kg.

Short: upto and including 175cm

Tall: anything over 175cm

Physique class: Anything above 80 and you'll have to be novice physique.

Short: upto and including 172cm

Tall: anything over 172cm.

Dont get too caught up in classes, just get shredded and let the category you fall into take care of itself.

All the best mate

It doesnt make much sense when you're new to it. But by the time you realy get in ripped contest shape and water depleted you will be under 77kg's thats if you do it right. And there's nothing wrong with that, you will actualy look bigger at 75kg ripped to shreds than you do now.

Looking at this pic maybe not 10 my bad. But still I'd say you'd be close to that 77kg mark or just over by 1 or 2 kgs and I think you should aim for that as you will look great dry and shredded.

Looking good mate.

yeah 3weeks left, i'll drop my carbs a bit again starting tomorrow and go from there. not sure if i will go all out trying to get amazingly lean/dry i could end up shooting myself in the foot and destroying alot of the muscle i do have
