What kind of training

Just wondering what kind of weight lifting everyone does. Do you find lifting heavy and low reps better or lighter with higher reps. I know some will say lift big to get big but some who train lighter but strict as have great builds. What do you guys prefer?? :)

Generally for me it's lower reps with higher weights. I consider anything over 8 high reps!! Haha.

But it's really about your goals. Personally I want to get stronger so stick to heavier weight an low reps. But I still mix it up, especially on assistance work.

Ditto, Training for your goals is the key

Training for Powerlifting now so lower reps higher weight is the norm. However I've always preferred training that way, would rarely do working sets above 10 reps. I find high reps boring, if I can rep it out, I need to add more weight to be satisfied

8? Anything over 3 is high for me :shifty: :pfft:

Seriously though depends on your goals, I'd train differently if I was into looking pretty, but for me and my way of training for strength, it's pretty much <=5

Good to see what everyone does, what works for one may not work for another. Variety in training is the key. Im looking at doing another comp in October just looking at options either go heavy or light and rep it.

Bodybuilding or Powerlifting comp?

Sorry bodybuilding I did my first in 2010 was ok, know what not to do hopefully come in better shape :)

Might be helpful to have a read through some of the Workout Journals. Soundsgood, Android, HarryB and ShutupandSquat all keep well detailed journals and have competed before, could get a few ideas from their training/prep work.

All the best :)
