Hey Guys,

I'm 20 and was wondering if you could help me with diet advice and what protein shakes to use.

The main goal for me is losing weight and gaining muscle. I know the main thing to lose weight is a diet and a good training plan too. but i was wondering if the horleys ripped protein shake is good for meal replacement. or would you reccomend a low carb diet.

Help would be greatly appreciated. sick of being a bit overweight.

Many Thanks

PS: any advice how to keep motivated?

hi

there are much cheaper options out there than horleys. check out bodybuilding.co.nz for supplements. They are pretty cheap on there mate.

what is your main reason for wanting to lose weight? to be healthy? to be lean and get girls ? whatever your reason for losing the weight is, keep it in mind when you think you arent making progress.

also dont look at the burger king ads on the side of the news feed on facebook. will mess with your mind!

that protein is expensive for what it is, so i would not reccomend it. and you will most likely want to have some carbs (dont really need heaps) before you train if youre going to be training hard.

as for replacing your meals with whey protein, dont really see why not...although it would probably be better to eat meat as well, for iron and stuff. just make sure you eat plenty of veges, preferably fresh. and dont be afraid of eating a little fat, your body needs it to make hormones or something

You might find that a protein shake isn't filling enough to be an entire meal replacement.

Shakes are usually classed as supplements. i.e. to supplement your diet.

Try sorting your diet first before substituting entire meals. Look up what your calorie intake should be for somebody of your size/weight/level of activity should be, then design a diet to meet those needs.

Good luck!
