Hi, I'm Alana.. no, no cool site name  I've always been an admirer of body building and the effort and dedication it takes to achieve even the smallest gains. I joined this site last night in the hope of learning more about the body building/sculpting lifestyle and eventually adopt it as my own.

About me, I've recently joined the gym again after almost 5 years away. This time around I'd like to have an aim instead of just going to the gym to go to the gym. I welcome any advice, insights and words of wisdom from those of you keen to dish it out  I would especially like to hear from someone that has taken body building/scultping up (or helped someone) at my age, Im 39 this July, no matter what stage your in. I'd like to know if it was tough etc because of the age.. You get the gist.

Anyway thanks for reading my long, little intro

Look forward to hearing from you

Alana :)

Perseverence and being honest to yourself about your effort is equally important.

Welcome. Once you filter the shit slinging and high testosterone posts, you will find great information.

Thanks for your welcome.. And for the heads up, Fortunately I'm allergic to shit slinging! :naughty: And if any this would be the place for testosterone  in saying that not all use it as an excuse to be.. undesirable? Lol. I've been reading some of the forums and there are tons of genuine people, yay!

Thanks again

Love and light :D

Hi Alana,

Yeah, you're not the only one doing this weird bodybuilding thing ;-) I'm 41, an ex-competitive rower from a looooooooong way back, and just getting into bodybuilding for the first time. Don't know what I like about it, just do, and my husband seems to like the muscles.

Can't say whether it's tough or not, as I've only just started, but have a blogging friend who is 50 over in the States, and she's looking awesome 14 months out, leg pressing 720 pounds (327 kgs), and about to enter comps.

In the end, it's only as tough as you think it is anyway, winning is in your head - and hey, consider the alternative - sitting fat and slobby in front of the TV, eating pizza until your first heart attacks? No thanks!

Be seeing you.

Mosgielian.
