Vegan Bodysculpting

Hi there

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with reducing body fat & gaining muscle on a vegan diet & if so any recipe ideas for lunches & dinners. Currently trying to do no carbs but finding hard to come up with selection of no carb high protein options here in NZ?

Thanks

Hiya, my dad is vegetarian and we've found that using Soy protein shakes (you can also get pea protein or brown rice protein) are really good supplements.

As well as this you can get Tofu here from most supermarkes with or without marinates, if the marinates aren't vegan you could just make your own out of spices etc.

Also nuts are high protein and are good for a snack or combined with protein shakes.

Dark green veggies have a fair amount of protein aswell as many other nutritional benefits, though they aren't primarily a protein if you try and consume a fair amount in a day it should make a difference. so I recommend stapling your diet around those in every meal to boost your protein and generally for getting better nutrition as being a vegan and on a high pro low carb diet is particularly restrictive.

There is also a protein called Quorn that we have in the UK which is VERY good high protein low fat vegan meat substitute, I havent found any in NZ yet but if you go to a foreign supermarket (I heard there were like stores where you can buy overseas foods/lollies etc) then they may stock it or know how to get it for you!

and as I said before possibly going for higher protein carbs when you do eat them, such as brown rice etc.

That's all I can think of right now.

I've heard of this. Not sure where/how, but it may be an indication we have it here too? I'd try the specialised vegan/organic/health food stores though.

Sunshinenz, there was another topic on vegan bodybuilding not that long ago. Check this out:
