What's with everyone using water!? Disgusting, milk is the only way to go. If it's just oats, milk, and PP I just let the oats soak for 10-15mins then eat.

Tried milk for the past couple of days instead of my water, was not impressed. Made it too rich for my liking. Back to my bland old water+oats+banana I reckon 8)

1) breakfast in a hurry

2) microwave (pretty heavy in cals, like 1k)

1k calories? na bro not that much 1000 calories is like a feed at kfc cant get that much from porridge..unless u add shit loads of sugar..or kfc on top of it - lol would not be surprised if he did that secretly:grin:

He takes "uncle tobies milk oaties".. according to the packet, 1 serving (40grams) of that stuff is 152 calories. he also takes it with 500ml whole milk (300 cals) and with 2scoops myofusion hydro (300 cals). with 1 serving of oats & the other stuff its 800kcal or 2 servings 900kcal totally not 1k+ karm015 be fraudin'!

Nutritional info on packet says 40g = 1 serve = 152 kcals, probably something wrong on that MFP submission if it's saying 1cup = 40g = 400+ kcal... generally rolled oats 1 metric cup is like ~80g which should give you 300kcal from it.

---------------------

anyway, how i eat them:

i used to just grind them right up into dust, mix with protein powder & whole milk and drink that way but the drink was always either too thick or ended up having too much milk.. hard to stomach all of it either way.

nowadays i do 0.8~1cup rolled oats, 1cup whole milk + microwave it 1min30 secs (use a microwave proof bowl ok), not fully cooked at that point but i like it that way. then stir in whatever powder i want at the end depending on what i need from that meal:

a) pre workout, breakfast, any time to help fulfil daily protein macros, I'll add myofusion whey 30grams- strawberries & cream flavour with oats = real nice! cookies & cream with oats = :? . and no need to add sugar to this because myofusion is dam sweet

or

b) if I just want to improve on the flavour, add 1~2 teaspoons cocoa powder and 1 teaspoon raw sugar.

if you feel it's sort of lacking in fats, take a spoon full of peanut butter in there too (never tried mixing it in though, i usually just eat the peanut butter separately)

also if i just need some quick/easy cals (like breakfast), i'll add in a sliced medium banana at the end (don't put that in the microwave!), it tastes really well mixed with all this too... and sometimes just a little bit of coffee if i feel like it \:D/

summer-half a cup of oats, half a cup of trim milk, some pumpkin seeds and sliced almond. maybe alittle fruit. cinnamon and then in the fridge for 15 mins or so.

winter-on the stove with water and half a cup of oats, eat with cinnamon and half a banana.

once tried cooking my oats with protein powder in it.. worst move ever. the whole thing turned into a solid mass that was not eatable at all..

nah one serving = 1/3cup = 40g, noticed that in mfp their 1/3 says 40g and their 1 cup says 40g... by their math, 1/3 = 1/1, lol. my serving size is 120g, aka 3 servings

120g of those = 456 cal

milk = 300 cal

protein powder = 300 cal

boom 1056 cals

ran out of breadcrumbs this evening so tried coating some snapper fillets in oats and fark it was good. Snapper fillet dipped in egg and then covered in oats. Fried in the pan with a wee bit of avacado oil.....beauty! Nice and crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked snapper on the inside.

You can buy bulk oats from Davis Trading for a pretty good price. I used to pick them up from them while I was picking up bulk protein. They have other bulk cereals as well as bulk dried fruit, bulk dextrose and bulk nuts (no homo)

Good if you're on a, er..., bulk

What are the prices like? Is the meat cheap?

Not sure, never bought meat from them. I've only bought stuff from the walk-in store at their HQ in Mt Wellington and I'm not sure if they have meat there. Maybe. They definitely sell meat though. They don't have prices on their website unfortunately as they sell at market value which fluctuates.

You can see their list though if you look at the interactive catalogue on their product page.

Things like oats, dextrose, etc are cheap as they're selling them in big bags. As long as you don't mind buying big bags it's a good rate

Yeah pretty much the same as above.

1 cup of oats. Pour boiling water on the snitch. Wait for it to absorb. Add 1/2 can of crushed pineapple in natural juice. 1 serve of vanilla protein.

Sick of it like though. Going to find a blender. And add peanut butter to that bastard.
