Am I weak?

I think if you are that height and weight.. If you start lifting it might help..

But honestly you are likely a beginner so you should be progressing so fast at this stage that the weights you will be lifting this week will be miles behind the weights you are lifting in a months time, just lift and don't worry about being weak or whatever at this stage, just do it !!

The thing is ive been lifting for over a year, and have came along way, believe it or not. I started at around 52-54KG with higher body fat then now. And am more then happy with my before and after pics.

Ive always been extremly skinny and been a hard gainer my whole life. So to achieve this is amazing. Would of been the skinniest in all my school classes.

Ive recenetly started to increase my calory intake tremendously, and have seen some strenght gains over the past month.

I just wanted to have a general idea of how heavy an average person of this weight/height should be lifting.

Thanks.

Post what you are lifting is easier bro. There is no target weight as everyones different. Obviously your newish to lifting being so light at that height so dont worry what weight you can move

Im just kind of embrassed ay? lol

Dont be. Shit loads of guys on here started out light. Just eat lots, drink lots of water, train hard and sleep heaps.

Trying starting with the lower weight and higher reps and then for 2nd and 3rd sets up the weight but decrease the reps.

ie,

1st set 12 reps of 15kg per side

2nd set 10 reps of 17.5kg per side

3rd set 8 reps of 20kg per side

i wouldnt consider what you can curl to be a good measure of strength. how much do you dumbell benchpress?

also in answer to your question, yes you are most likely weaker than i was before i started lifting

Managed dumbell benchpressed 59kgx10(3) last to 8

do you mean 24.5kg dumbbells?

Imprsesive gains man, well done ,i had the same exact stats when i started out, and since u didnt mention any leg lifts listen and listen good dont forget your legs and calves ,trust me , make sure deadlifts and squats are as important as your bench in your program, and if u have skinny calves dont forget to train them from all angles and religously, never stop doing chins and pull ups coz they build better biceps and they future proof your forearms.Coz if you cant do bodyweight chins or pull ups your not really strong.

And dips of course dont forget dips

I didnt have the infoi have now and i paid for it with annoying niggling injuries and laughable imbalances.especially your legs when u put on all that weight that quick and dont bother with your legs u will pay for it trust me.

Sorry i know i derailed your thread, but when i read your stats it reminded me of me when i started out and now i wish someone had hammered in me what i just posted for you. Good luck.

Well if that's the progress you have made, well done

And yea that is more than I was expecting too, just keep lifting and get those numbers even higher !

When I first started I was 60kg and benching an empty bar was a struggle..

So you're doing well and I know where you are coming from, just keep pushing it and I wish I knew back then what I know now, would have trained my legs a lot more, make Squats, Deads, Good Mornings etc staples in your programme.

Plenty of good info around here, just soak it all up and you'll be better off for it

Its a hard way to tell with your reps being slow and controlled also. You could be doing them incredibly slow.

If u wanna test strength, try 1 reps. and you can try move the weight as fast as you can which will likely be slow anyway. For biceps 1 rep id use a barbel, with minimal swing. bench press is a actual competing lift but just for self idea just let the bench touch ur chest and back up to extended arms.

didn't read it all, may have been said a million times by now but never hurts to hear it again : if you are into bodybuilding then just remember that it is ALL about the constant progress rather than just how much you can lift on any particular movement.. do what gets you size and that should be enough :D

... sorry if you are a powerlifter tho

Doesn't matter about everyone else's weights just do the heaviest you can with the best form ya can. You will grow and get stronger :)

This.

If you're too worried about being too weak when you start off, you will probably not make any progression because you'll install self-doubt within yourself.
