Name suppression for protection only usually happens when naming the criminal means the victims identity comes out (father molests daughter for eg.)

Of course, if the guilty party is a comedian, he'll keep name suppression and won't be punished, even if found guilty...as recently happened.

I see that there was talk of him doing it to get in a gang. If our gangs are now accepting on the credentials that you raped and bashed a 5 year old we should be rounding up these gangs and setting them on fire.
