I agree with alot of what everyone has said really...

The PM should, one would think, get more - I believe it's half that however to be fair, Mr Key could pull a late Steve Jobs and reduce that to $1 due to personal circumstances... but if he did that - he'd be open to ridicule... Kiwis are a funny lot like that

You get what you pay for, however I think for the public sector it's a little excessive unless there's some venture that he's headed that paid off fiscally, like a private sector style bonus. However funnily enough, due to his personal circumstances - he could throw that to $1 as well at a stretch.. in actual fact, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a Western country's (capitalist) top politician/ local etc that couldn't do that. Politicians have to find something to do or have another, prior skillset, family/friends that = fundraiser etc should they not get a seat... or lose negotiations for a seat as a list etc. Perfect example of someone that hasn't such an ability is that transsexual MP that's now on the dole... good luck finding that becoming a trend... I digress... :roll:

I can tell you that the last company I worked for paid it's CEO nearly 3 mill plus a ton of benefits... and my current company? At a guess - lots more Me? Fek all. I plan on torching a building or three down should I not get a raise in Feb... watch this space :twisted: :pfft:
