I am 50 and fat.. I eat properly, good diet and am training hard.

But as age comes on I'm slowing and the fat is very hard to shift.

I have been reading and reading and reading, but so many different options and theories and compounds. Then there's the need for tamoxifin type products after wards.. Some say you need them, some say you dont when only using small amounts.. Its' all doing my head in..

Can any one point me in the right direction in simple terms, for what I should be looking at taking. Something thats not hard on the hairline or kidneys, and relatively easy to obtain.

Im currently on a small dose of doctors prescribed test made by arrow.. Definitely seems to be helping but its just not enough..

Any advice please..

Whats your training and diet like? maybe something you can address without resorting to drugs? What dosage are you on for HRT? Are you on the red testosterone undecanoate caps? They are very mild. You could ask your doctor about switching to injections. I would recommend just getting some more test into you before you look at other compounds.

My training and diet are fine.. Although obviously not as strict as competitive body builders, its pretty good..

No junk food of any sort.

5 small meals a day consisting of vege and lean protein.

Trying to cut the carbs right back. Even fruit which I love has been cut back to a minimum..

Training's good, although I know I need to step up the cardio.. Working on that lol

Doc wont give me higher dosage of test at this stage..

Test is Arrow Ca 40mg - one per day :-(

what are you trying to achieve, what do you want?

You say you're fat and slowing down, do you want to be leaner or do you just want more Test? Knowing what you want would be a good first step. Not sure more Test will make you slimmer that's all.

There's a couple of older bodybuilders at my gym taking doctor prescribed Reandron 1000 and they seem quite "youthful". One used to go every 6 weeks to the doc but now goes every 4 weeks...which is just as useful for raising your Test levels as taking more.

But then they train hard, cardio a bit, and eat well too.

I want to lose fat and try to get back some of my youthful virgour. Size = muscle is good, but losing fat and getting a bit of grunt back so I can get back in to some of my old sports are my main goals.

When on Decca before the weight just dropped off my fast.. It made a huge difference.. Not keen on decca again though. I might ask the doc about Reandron and see what he says..

Actually I have a couple of good contacts for underground suff, am tempted just to buy up a heap of what ever and just start dosing up a storm...... Always been shy of injecting myself is one of my big problems. Might just have to over come that and get on with it..

you sound like a 50 year old idiot.

your definition of hard training is probably training incorrectly or not training very hard at all.

there are plenty of people both male and female who are 50 years and over who are getting very good weight loss results and overall energy and 'feel-good' increases from a good exercise and nutrition program.

im even helping a couple myself, your just using your age as an excuse.

you say you have gone to the doc to get HRT medication because your testosterone levels have dropped... thats fair enough but they should be equaling a standard natural level of your agre bracket. so your getting the treatment and your levels are where they should be, so thats not a excuse.

you can do what you want but when i am 50 i sure wont be "dosing up a storm" of high dosages of AAS, its probably not the wisest thing to do when your getting older. but its your life at end of day.

actually not quite that silly.. I would always do my homework on what Im taking.. Hence starting this thread. The reality is, I think I'm just starting to feel my age and getting pissed off with it..

I used to do a lot of boxing sparring.. I really miss it.. .I want to get back in to it, but I just dont have the grunt or the puff like I used to, to mix it with the young guys.. I guess Im tired of being tired.

Who ever said ageing gracefully was the way to go? :-(

As previously stated Im training hard at weights... Not cardio.. I know I need to step up my cardio drastically I just dont seem to be able to find the energy these days..

so to a degree your right.. I know there are people out there at 50 that are running marathons.. hey theres peeps at 60, 70 that are running marathons, where the f*ck they get their energy from is beyond me.. I take my hat off to them.. My test levels were 13 last time I had them tested.. That's low by even my age standards.. Although not low enought to be taken seriously for HRT which is why my doc is struggling to give me a larger dosage..

Im picking thats my problem right there.. Low test levels and the stuff the doc is giving me is helping some but not good enough. I know when I was on decca it was amazing.. I felt much stronger, my weights increased drastically, sore joint pain dissappeared, my energy levels soared. My ability to breath and do 2 minute rounds with out running out of puff increased drastically.. I lost fat.. Now I ask you, who wouldnt want those benefits?

If Randy can look like this at 50...theres hope for you yet

MMA-Fighter-Randy-Couture.jpg

dude has always been fit throughout his life though from when he used to wrestle then the army and then MMA...the amount of training these guys do is pretty crazy especially when getting ready for a fight, sure he's on TRT but it isn't like he slacks, his diet has always been good (even when he retired) atleast from what I've seen on video blogs and stuff

see, now that's what I'm talking about.. Gimme some of what he's having..

Hi, the 'foot ball' shape capsules that you are using have been re-made due to a lack of absorbtion due to breakdown of the shell so you should have no problems with the absorption.

I have heard from people in your age bracket who are having similar problems, and the problem lies in the fact that every single person has individual chemistry and there is no generic dose for every-one so your 40mg per day may be insufficient.

'Manapause' is starting to be recognised, it is finaly recognition that men go through a hormonal change similar to woman, and this can lead to a number of factors.

Depression, mood swings, excessive tiredness and losing your 'pow' and virility is a host of symptoms that have shown in men in your age bracket for a number of years, it isn't new age either, or entirely enviromental as French scientists were experimenting with bull semen in the 1600's to try and re-capture youth.

I don't believe it is just your test that is low, I think you would benefit from using Zinc, Magnessium and vitamin b-12...

Regular training, clean eating and supplementation including testosterone replacement will help, as will daily sex which will increase your libido, drive, natural test and fertility.

Best of luck, there are many people with your symptoms.

MR Geeky. Have a look at the Paleo lifestyle, for more ideas on healthy eating. I reckon if you remove rice and other grains like bread and pasta, you will start to reduce any excess carbohydrates maintaining your higher fat percentage.

There are haters of the Paleo version of eating, but check it out. It isn't about removing carbs as such, but removing processed foods. There are healthy fats that your body uses as energy, instead of processed carbs.

Just a thought.

It s a 16mb pdf of heaps of recipes. No grains.

Really check it out, before doing AAS at a higher level. If sparring was your thing, go back to it. BUT, don't compete with others, just extend yourself. Only dickheads would give you shit for taking breaks when you need them. Doing the things you love can go a long way to boosting your positivity too.

Throwing in some step climbing (at a park etc) can also go a long way.

Awesome, I will definitely sit down tomorrow and have a good read of that pdf file.. Your thinking is inline with mine.. I'm sure that will definitley help me to redefine my diet..

As for sparring, no way can you just stop during rounds and say let me catch my breath, your either sparring or you become a punch bag.. lol, But Im thinking about going back to training but asking coach if I can do some 1 minute rounds.. Not sure how that will go.. he said to me a while ago, "might be time to think about growing old gracefully" lol

thank you severe thats some more really great advice there..

I never really expected such great advice.. Glad I came back in here to ask for advice now.. cheers guys..

Bulking up has never been my thing. Believe it or not, I do weights because i love doing them.. I would hate to get huge..

Good point & one many on here could heed. I would suggest you could disregard the comments passed by our learned friend "tomsammce" & excuse his disrespect & arrogance. I can speak from experience when I say much can be achieved by males as they grow older by careful supplementation of their hormones physically, mentally & emotionally. Just find what works for you that helps you achieve our goals in life even if it is "dosing up a storm" which some of us "young" guys on here still do

well they are called performance enhancing drugs and the idea is to take them when your natural performance us at it's peak, which is most of the time in your 20s
