So, as I have not been in the gym for 10 years, would it be the right thing to do to just spend 2 weeks or so doing a simple routine to gauge what weights I am comfortable with now before I start hitting my new program. I have the Vince Del Monte program that I think I'm going to start on, not because I necessarily believe any internet hype about magic programs and things but just because it does seem like a nice hard workout to push as a set-off point.

As the program goes over a few weeks, I don't want to start it half assed the first few weeks, still trying to figure out my optimum weights etc.

And another note, if I go ahead and waist a quick two weeks to get to grips with my current state and strength, should I be hitting the food and protein during these two weeks as well or just leave it until I REALLY start training?

Cheers,

TG

You should get your diet in order as well. So that you get the best from your workouts.

All good. Diet is all planned out and supps are ready to be courged on.

Going to be a bit of a change moving from sub 2000 Calories to 3500 calories a day.

Sure will be, the key to making improvements is having control over the different aspect and creating accountability. So if you can get your diet and stuff sorted you will be putting yourself in a much better position to achieve your goals. Plus I think the discipline of sticking to an eating plan creates more discipline to train and a desire to really reap benefits because you are putting more effort into all aspects so you want and expect a greater return.
