How many people actually even eat prawns. Seriously, virtually no fat, no carbs, high as tits in omega 3 and has more protein per hundred grams than pretty much any meat your diet consists of! Just a thought. I'm fucking buying it from now on.

i eat them on the weekly brah. just not as cost effective as other sources

I was using them as part of a cutting diet, until my trainer said he thought they weren't great for cutting. He couldn't remember why though - and I can't see anything in the nutritional specs to be frightened of. Has anyone else heard prawns are bad if you're trying to cut?

I love Prawns and shrimps.

Cheers for that nutritional info..i assume shrimps would be similar.

lol @ thinking they're different.

But they are

Very similar nutritionally I'm sure, but if they weren't different somehow, they wouldn't have different names

Isn't it just regional language variations? I think Americans call them shrimps but we call them prawns.

Apparently, they are interchangeble (my experience) however technically there is a difference.

My apologies.

The primary difference is the gill structure. Shrimp have branching gills, while prawns have lameller gills with a platelike structure. There are a few other distinguishing features. The front pincers of shrimp are typically the largest, while prawns have bigger second pincers. Prawns also have longer legs than shrimp. These differences may seem subtle, but they indicate different steps along the evolutionary path of both creatures.

Prawns are in the suborder Dendobranchiata, while shrimp are classified as Pleocyemata.

Kapow!

love them with veges, on pizzas, in omelettes, on their own, cooked in garlic, squirted with lemon, instead of a shake.. great protein for the calories huh! countdown sometimes has specials on them (like $17/kg), and microwave cooks them in 2 mins or less
