THIS!!!

I don't think too many high achievers in any field really knew 100% that they would leave their mark on the world. But without self belief (some may describe as delusional! ) success will not happen (it aint Lotto!).

I know where Tom's coming from, probably like me he knows the % chance of making it to Mr O is low for anyone, and he knows the hell you'd need to put your body through to get there. But this thread aint about that, so I'll save my views too.

I guess with the above at less if you aim for the stars at least you might hit the moon, which is a f*ck of a lot further than anyone aiming lower will get!

Mr O is like 0.0000001% chance these days, you really need super great genetics for that.

But Mr NZ... average genetics and damn consistent and super hard work ethic will get you there.

My training goals for 2012

enter some crossfit comps and do the best i can so hopefully that can mean getting a win.

to not be so lazy and take my nutrition a more seriously, less partying and try not to put as many bad things into my body.

enter a strongman comp and be competitive at under 90kg. a pl or bb comp could be on the cards to.

and continue to improve all aspects of my strength and fitness by finding ways to gain in both and just going hard basically.

Strong goals Tom. Go hard.

TLAF said make the Olympia, not win it.

I think both aspects of it are realistic; yes, it's a small chance, 99.9999% of the world don't even step on to the Olympia. But there are people who do. Think of how many people said to them, "There's no fucking way you'll make it there! Yeah, you're good, but f*ck, those guys are just massive!" Like I said, where does doubt get anyone? Some people on here look up to you bigger guys, so don't crush them. It's like your parents saying you'll never make it ANYWHERE.

Your perception is your reality.

Absolutely! Set high goals, then work your way towards them and at least you can have faith in the fact you did all you could do! If you get there you get there if not it won't be because you diidn't try hard enough.

Exactly .... and never, ever give up.

Doing so only takes you further from where you want to be.

You weighed 36 kg? o.o how old were you?

16 years old with a 28" chest.

I thought I was small at 16 and 54kg. Good effort to have come this far! Seriously, THAT is an achievement!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I gained 19kg & 12" on my chest the first year.

You have done bloody well yourself.

Hidetada was 56kgs when he first started lifting.... lol

I think his max weight got up to in off-season this year was 240lbs

Almost double his start weight

Since starting training my bodyweight's increased 250% - 36kg to 90kg.

if I read the number 36kg again from you I swear I'll get mad lol

i wanna take part

thats not a goal, thats a fucking pipe dream... get real buddy.

Seriously Tom.. wtf.. it's a lofty goal sure but it's one every single bodybuilder has entertained at some stage in their lives.

True, and at least one Wellington bb'er has set sights on the '12 Arnold as a stepping-stone.

short term goal (ie within the next 2-3 months)

get back to sub 15 bf(the KFC I had last night didn't help)

Mid Term Goal (2 years time)

Bench 140 for atleast 1 rep (most I've done was 110 for 1 rep without any help not even removing it from the rack)

Deadlift: something not wussy (I can only do 6x 140 atm lol)

Squat: as above (most I've done was 6x 140 @ parallel)

Long term goal:

I dunno if I will even make it that far since I live the thug life!!! no idea to be honest...maybe get my judo blackbelt
