Goals

Recommended Posts

I thought this would be an interesting to get how other people feel in terms of where they want to be short, mid and long term). Try not judge anyone's goals people, as that's where that individual wants to be, not you.

My short term goals for the next few months are Squat 190 for reps, deadlift 190 for reps and bench 100 for reps. (and to get 24 inch legs)

My mid term goals; I want to compete in two years, so I just want to try become a monster but with still having a good please beautiful body shape.

In the long term; I'd like to get a pro card and hopefully compete on the 212 stage. Yeah, I know lots of people will think that's unrealistic, but where does doubt get anyone?

So what's everyone else's goals? I'm sure some people would use this thread as a bit of a scapegoat to let people know.

Yuss something to participate in, was getting bored at work :shifty:

  • Short term goal(s): hit a 300kg comp Squat + Dead in just belt + wraps (hopefully CDs in March). 160 comp bench to go with that but it's not as high on my goals list as the other two lifts. In the U105kg division.
  • Mid term goal: once the above is completed, get into + learn a squat suit/bench shirt, start challenging for national titles + records.
  • Long term, not sure just yet, but I can see myself getting into the budgie smugglers for a bodybuilding show at some point, maybe when I've achieved the above in Powerlifting 8)

Survive to 40.

Damn I thought you were already 45.... :pfft:

Cmon Harry tell the boys what you wanna achieve?

45 wtf? lol

OK serious goals.... all in all I feel pretty good about 2011, I rehabbed back from some pretty full on injuries and grew a lot of muscle back and got myself in half way decent shape. Whilst I didn't compete I felt like I could have I just wasn't as good as I wanted to be. The journey changed from just wanting to get into shape and have a go to wanting to win something and walk onstage better than ever. I had a few time management issues and had to iron some tweaks out of my training so I can start 2012 really amped to do something.

So after that long winded intro... goals for 2012 are to compete again and kick everyones ass 40 or not! I don't really have long term bodybuilding goals because I just take it as it comes and don't feel any pressure one way or the other when it comes to competing and that kind of thing. I don't feel like I have anything to prove to anyone other than myself. I just want to be bigger and better than ever before.

Strength goals? I would like to at some stage do those 60k dbs on shoulder press and get a 6 plate squat for 6 reps happening, single 5 plates on the bench. I don't put any pressure on myself to lift anything too heavy though as I am acutely aware of my injuries etc etc etc etc (yep I am a sook)

Life goals? Hmmmmmm marry Nate and adopt PD and SUAS?? lol nah just want another good year with family and friends.

Short Term: Get past the 2nd interview they've given me on Friday for working in Thailand.

Medium Term: Get thru Xmas and New Years festivities and start off-season growing. Make dramatic changes to Back, Legs, Shoulders over the coming year.

Long Term: Onstage again in 2013

But seriously

time frames may be somewhat different for each person?

That's true, but as long as the individual knows the length of their goals, that's all that matters.

Harry, you adopt me if you want. But I might have trouble speaking Samoan. Does Maori count?

Good to see that people have some really strong goals.

TLAF, maybe I'll see you there! Race to it ;)

Short: recover from throat surgery with no issues get back into gym Hit a 200 Squat with confidence.

Mid: Bang a 160 TnG bench, 250 dead.

Long: Catch Drizzt's deads and close gap on Squats

Also clean up diet and tighten things up more that's more of a lifestlye change than a short, mid, long term goal.

Does Nate HAVE to be? My mum at the moment lifts more than him and her spine is fucked! (Just kidding, Nate. Don't hate mummy ♥)

Fuaaaark. Throat surgery? How's that recovering man?

Drizzt has got some pretty ridiculous strength. WHEN you catch him, you'll be pretty happy!

I kind made that sound a tad serious huh was just some stiches inside my throat and under my toungue. It's good man lost a bit of weight not sure how much but was almost 5kgs on Sunday and that was only 3 days after the op due to not having any solids but eating much better as of Tuesday thanks SUAS so hitting up me red and white meats easy on the carbs for now not being very active besides walking everyday.

Well I get a 2 month window next year when he's away so figured running a Smolov Squat AND Dead program should make for a good start :pfft: (smi srs) and this is RAW btw if he starts to equip there is no hope for MT.

nice goals red machine!

Main goal next year is to get to 100kg at 10% body fat or less by the middle of the year and also be less obsessive about bodybuilding. Kinda hard putting those two goals together. lol

Strengthwise - I want to complete the below in January

Squat

180kg for 10 reps

140kg for 20 reps

Bench

180kg for one unassisted rep

140kg for 10 reps

Deadlifts

220kg for 10

Goals for 2012:

Bodybuilding - Win overall Title at a couple of shows. Win my open class at nationals. Push for an overall Mr NZ title. Compete at the worlds or at least another top Australian show. Stand on stage next to HarryB :shifty:

Powerlifting - wont really have time to fit in a serious powerlifting programme next year but would love to go 800 total raw. Might even do my first (and last) novice comp. And a 350 equipped squat would be fun too :)

Looking to pick up a sponsor or 2 next year too.
