Water bottles in NZ don't tend to contain BPA, they're made with PET. That being said, PET possibly leeches chemicals like BPA does, therefore just because something says 'BPA free' doesn't mean you're any better off.

If you're concerned about this sort of thing, here's a rundown on bottles and plastic types.

Stainless steel 750ml bottle, no fuckin BPA for me or my family. I personally think it is worth spending a small amount of money to remove one possible cause of health problems later on and I don't EVER have to throw mine away so will be saving money long after all you pump bottle users are still paying for bottled water.

Just bought me a BPA free 1 litre drink bottle from Katmandu today.

They have a 50% off deal too.

Did anyone see that program where they tested plastic drink bottles at peoples work place. I think it was Target. They tested a few with green stuff in it & it tested positive for stuff you wouldn't care to think about.

Ok look at the best before date or the expire date. The bottle must be safe until that time, and it should not leach any chemicals until then even if you wash it with warm water otherwise the bottles would be full of chemicals from the day it was bottled.

This is what we were told by the chemists in a MLM company that I used to belong to.

Chemists are not to be trusted srs, also if you leave the bottle in your car in the stinking heat do you think its not going to leach any chemicals into your water then, regardless of best before dates?
