Advice on DIM etc

Have been running 4x Viridex ED with no issues other than a high E2 count, so introduced 300mg DIM ED. At the same time also started 75mg zinc (50 Oroate, 25 Aspartate) ED and 4 x USPlabs Super Cissus ED for joint repair.

Two weeks into this started getting crazy hot body temp up 1.5 deg, pain in the temples, feeling wasted and an overall body ache. Dropped the DIM back to 150mg ED but symptoms continued so after days of feeling like crap have dropped all supps until the body settles down.

Does anyone have any idea what would have caused this. Have run Viridex before with no problem so it must be the combo right?

Cheers

Thought I’d better post a follow up after the overwhelming number of responses :pfft: Was advised that the dizzy spells/heat was down to the DIM (diindolylmethane) causing the liver to flush toxins at too great a rate, so had to back off to very small doses to allow it to metabolize them at a gentler pace. Almost back up to original dose again without symptoms so it will be interesting to see if the Liver function test gives better results. Have a stash of Viridex so the goalposts won’t have moved.

Sorry for copy and pasting but here is a short bit on having to much zinc.

"Dosages as low as 50 mg of zinc a day can interfere with your body's absorption of copper, putting you at risk for copper deficiency and anemia. Symptoms include lethargy, nausea, a metallic taste, blood in the urine, and reduced levels of beneficial HDL cholesterol. According to New Jersey Medical School, taking more than 100 mg of zinc a day may promote more aggressive tumors in cases where prostate cancer has developed. However, no relationship was found between dietary zinc and prostate cancer. Taking over 300 mg a day of zinc decreases white blood cells and impairs immune function. The National Institutes of Health advises an upper limit of 40 mg of zinc a day from food and supplements combined

Thanks man. Interesting read. It does seem high in light of this....'researchers found that patients taking 80 mg of zinc for six years as part of an age-related eye disease study experienced significantly more hospital admissions for genitourinary infections than the control group'... considering the additional uptake from food etc.

Will halve the dose just to be on the safe side. Appreciate your imput mate.

Supposedly to help the liver metabolize my high E2 Nate.

'Clinicians Mens Hormone Support is a research based combination of nutrients designed to prevent the action of Aromatase enzymes in those individuals at risk of developing prostate cancer. Active botanical extracts designed to balance and support normal hormonal levels in males, especially where prostate health is of concern. The ingredients include chrysin, DIM, saw palmetto and nettle, all known for their use with hormonal imbalances. Also used for men who have too higher estrogen levels.'
