Hit 20.38 last night with the senior put, qualifying standard for the Olympics team was 20.3. His previous best/national record was 20.01 :shock:

He's told me many of the weights he's shifting around. The kid is an absolute genetic freak with a ton of motivation behind him. I also have absolutely no doubts as to his drug free status.

We're seeing the early stages of something never seen before. Someone who can accelerate the shot with a power to weight ratio that is off the charts. Along with this, someone who is able to combine the speed benefits of the rotational technique, with a power-position that basically mimics the glide/linear delivery. He's technically probably the best on earth, has great rhythm, and an insane power to weight ratio which will only improve with age.

There is a video of him as about a 5'10 50kg 13yr old, benching 90kg with no spot, no arch and a massive ROM. If that's not freaky genetics, nothing is.

BTW... he was hoping for 21m last night. Was quite disappointed with his performance. He had a warm up measured at 20.75m, and never quite got a good one in. The distances he'd been throwing in training shows he's definitely ready to head over 21m, which is Olympic medal territory.

He's powercleaned 165kg with horrid form. Probably capable of being a world class oly lifter easily. He's ranked something like 2nd in the world for discus as well. Had 1 training session in a year and then did a competition, breaking Chris Mene's NZ record by like 3m. Lol.

Good to see someone like Jacko about to be worldclass sooner rather than later.

NZ used to produce a few field athletes but not many recently for a variety of reasons.

All good to see someone young train like that and show what can be done with a ton of obscession and motivation without having to drug himself silly.

Bet he dosent spend all day on xbox and facebook either.

Sure he would have a good chance of making it as hes a total beast but only if it was his dream to do so. All his motivation would getting the world record and an olympic gold..
