Trying to work different fibers within a muscle is one thing.. but to work different PARTS of fibers??? I think your clutching at straws (or fibers) mate.

You may not have meant it but for the "inner chest" to be isolated and grow more you are talking about telling parts of a muscle fiber to grow, which simply won't happen. As the muscle fibers run from their origin on the sternum to an insertion on the humerus (arm) having differential longitudinal growth along fibers, which is what you are talking about, is not possible.

Maybe your chest is just growing overall and you are filling it out better, I don't know your training history but this is what happens to novices and they often make the mistake of thinking they are isolating a particular part of the muscle when in reality the muscle in its entirity is just getting bigger.
