60 odd athletes competed today. The standard, as at all NABBA WFF shows I've ever been to, was very high.

Last year this show was held at The Bruce Mason theatre and even though it was a generous sized venue, the tickets sold out. This year it was held at Kings School hall. It only held about half as many spectators. Im not sure why such a small venue was chosen this year as it meant there was a lot of people who were unable to score tickets and attend this great show which was a shame. Perhaps someone can shed some light here?

Fortunately I was lucky enough to get one and I'm glad I went. The WFF classes were littered with talent throughout with a couple of notable standouts including WFF overall men's winner Naki Rasmussen and Womens WFF overall winner Johanna Mountford.

The glamour girls came out 3 times and were well received each time with some stunners.

The NABBA side of the comp wasn't heavy on competitors. It only featured 4 novice, 2 masters, 0 juniors and 5 open class men. The standard was good though. Grant Pieterse cleaning up Class 2 in a local hit out before heading over to Canada next week to compete as a WBFF pro (after handing back his IFBB pro card last year). It was great to see the big guy back on stage with his combination of size and conditioning showing us how it's done at the next level.

Class 1 was a very competitive class won by Kristian Bray who looked the sharpest I've ever seem him and he sure wowed the crowd with his backflips and handstands in his epic posing routine lol. The battle for 2nd was extremely close and taken out by the much improved Ben Holmes over Big Jake Campus.

The overalls was taken out by Grant although Kristian definately had his moments.

Jayne Dowling took out the women's side.

There were lots of competitors in the crowd who are holding back for the nats. There is no qualification requirement for the nats again this year so everyone was playing the guessing game about who will be doing them. Chatted with Kagan and it seems Steve Orton is well on track to be bringing his best package yet. Big Darren F looked crazy massive and lean already. If Garth doesn't win his pro card at the NZIFBB nats you may see him there too. It's shaping up to be a big big show!

There was good food at the show as well which was cheap to buy like coffies, fruit, fruit on a stick candy, water, pumpkin soup which was very nice.I thought that space between seats was a bit crowed unlike compare to other shows that I have attend plenty of space between seats.Towards the end of the show I had to move down to the second front row to get more leg space. All I can say about the Glamour class that made feel very :shifty: also it remined me of NABBA 's fitness model .

Was a good show but as others have said the venue was a little small. The quality of physiques in general was of a very high standard, and is setting the stage for one of the best nationals ever.

Congratulations to my client Jaynne Dowling for taking out the figure division and the overalls. Second year in a row a client of mine has been crowned "Ms Pan Pacific".

Perhaps you all have too much time on your hands...420 seats and all sold out

The only ones who complained are those who didn't listen when we said BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW BEFORE THEY SELL OUT

The athletes were pleased with the venue and over 400 people were as well and hey...you didn't have to pay for two tickets/ competitors didn't have to fork out for 2 lots of tan/ or day/night posing trunks and it finished at a good time and they were fed and watered/ respected and had a damned good time.

So... get your tickets early for the Nats that's all I can say.

They go on sale next week ... the venue is in Auckland, early promo poster is out next week with venue details, with the final poster out in a month once all sponsors have been finalised. \:D/

I will not be checking for replies to this post but if you wish to compete at the Nats feel free to email the organisers:
