Any Ideas Im stumped.Last time I posed to some hard out crap which lets just say did not match my physique any ideas will be appreciated something so i dont look like a complete tool .Keep in mind I have a limted sense of rhythm .,Cheers

Maybe try a slower song? Give you time to get into your poses without rushing too much.

Are you choreographing your routine yourself? Or have you got someone helping u out..?

I think the best songs are ones with a good strong beat. It doesn't have to be strong on every beat, although if your sense of rhythm isn't great, they might be easiest to pose to. Sometimes a beat every few bars (say 5-7 secs) works well at emphasising each pose and gving you enough time to hit it properly...

The best way is to check out some posing routines on youtube.com of melvin anthony, that guy has awesome routines which u could get ideas from, i dont mean doin all those flexible moves, but managing to nail down the transitions of poses.i reckon the way to nail a routine would be to be able to gracefully transition from one pose to another, to give every muscle group a chance of exhibition.the only difference would be trying to fit it all in one minute, since pros have a longer time to do their routines...also flex wheeler and shawn ray had awesome routines...the choices are endless man! and all the hard work of dieting for weeks should be paid off with an awesome routine:lol:

A judge once gave me this basic advice on performing a bodybuilding routine (from a judge's point of view) - highlight your strongest/best bodyparts, don't make your movements too jumpy or move all over the stage.

Mind you, that was back in the days when routines were judged within each class - these days in NABBA and NZFBB events only a few classes have their routines judged for the class placings (Mixed Pairs, Fitness) but most events have a Best Posing Routine award up for grabs.

My suggestion is find a track that you like and one that also suits your personality (rather than your physique) and include poses that show off your best features. Above all, relax, smile and have fun with it!!

I'm not sure where you live, Paul, but I can highly recommend Phil Adams from Matrix Digital here in Wellington. If you are in the Auckland region I know that Joe Fepuleai is an option, but I don't have his contact details.

It's always best to get your music professionally mixed - there's nothing worse than doing it yourself and finding they can't play the CD at an event!
