Hey guys,

On Justins website he mentions "the best protein powder I have found for gaining muscle is whey isolate, a lot of other protein powders don't seem to be absorbed by my body and came out the other end just as fast as you take them in"

any takes on this?

can it really differ that much between individuals as to whether they actually absorb any WPC?

I doubt it unless an individual was lactose intolerant (genuinely not the "ohh dairy products dont agree with me" naturopath crap we see so much of).

In that case a more refined WPI with lower lactose levels would suit better.

IMHO For most people WPI = more money for same results as WPC.

If you are fanatical about getting the protein in quickly & all that nutrient timing theory I guess WPI would be ideal post training etc. I'm too cheap for that! :pfft:

I knew that I'd seen something on this sort of topic from The Oracle (i.e Flex):

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7999&p=162896&hilit=whey+AND+fraction#p162896

From that post:

"If you are using an Ion exchange WPI with 0g fat or very low fat (or any WPI) then you are most likely missing out on the benefits of the following fractions which are either destroyed or "filtered" to ineffective amounts:"

Looks like there's some benefit to good old WPC
