Missing out on gains

Is it possible to advance to quickly and miss out on muscle growth or end up plateauing early ?

I don't believe I have ever heard anyone complain about progressing too fast

Do you mean in terms of Strength ? And you think you will miss out on muscle gains and plateau sooner because you are getting too strong ?

This will not happen mate, if anything be pleased you are progressing faster than expected, the only way to miss out on muscle growth is if you don't train

Yep that's true, be happy that you're on a good upshot! Once you get to a certain level of strength you'll find every dumbbell increment or weight increase a chore to get to. Try and be consistent with your gains at the moment, make sure you're not sacrificing exercise form for what you think are gains. As long as you're lifting hard and heavy, there won't be any "plateauing early".. try and remember that the effort you put in, will be reflected in the results you get out. :)

This is a good point. I got used to gaining at a certain pace, and when I got into the heavier weights and the gains were much harder to achieve, I used to cheat a bit especially by going through a shorter and short ROM. It's so much better to focus on pushing yourself as hard as you can and just let the gains come at whatever pace they will. If you're doing your best, they will.
