a tip when you're hassled about gaming

i got hassled the other day when i referred to starcraft being "e-sports". someone said it wasn't sport. if you're faced with this, well presumably your detractor is trying to suggest an element of futility..So.use an example like golf (seriously ludicrous) or weight-lifting. considered sports right? take weight lifting..despite all our millions of years of evolutionary progress, technological advancement and enlightenment, these neanderthals still think its relevant to be able to lift a HEAVIER THING than the next guy...even though once hoisted above the head the only thing they're capable of doing with it is dropping it at their feet...gee, thats useful ! If thats sport, and Starcraft isn't..you can keep sport and drool over it back in the cave. (here endeth the rant)

The 'e' is for 'electronic. So a game between two or more people via electronic means is still a competitive notion.

Not necessarily nerds or unemployed only.

However, I have a 30 year old cousin who lives in the 'e' world of gaming, and has withdrawn from the reality of teh real world. He would be a candidate for stunt double, for that unemployed guy you mentioned, DT.

if you play streetfighter, you probably know daigo, a japanese pro, earns money by playing streetfighter. paid by sponsors like madcatz and he gets invited on most big time tournaments. he gets paid for it and if he wins then that's additional money for him.
