hhhh1 your bench grip is pretty close together, you always benched liked that? More stress on your triceps than if u had a wider grip. More ROM also. Just something I noticed.

I might give bench press a go but definitely not squat or deadlift - back still causing troubles. Will this be a problem? Can I compete in just bench press?

I did dead lifts on Monday night, but thought I'd do a quick set of 8 so id have something to post for the challenge. Hammies were a bit tight and it threw my form off. Sorry for the average pulls and hitch on the 7th rep. Not resetting between reps, but not blatantly bouncing so even though it's ugly, it all counts

Will look to go a bit heavier and better form next week or week after.

Anyway here is 225kg x 8 reps (plates are 45lb (20.5kg)

Sure, should do once I sort my hand out in a few weeks. Yeah, 8 reps ain't my forte', but it's a bit of a challenge. No good at repping deads either, but squats I can handle.

Awesome big guy! Love to see the kind of weight you will be throwing around. Overall should be a doddle for you. But it will be interesting when Wilks has you up against guys literally half your weight

I could be keen to go for the Internet Warrior Catergory ! I already have a couple vids I can post up of repping Squats and Deads, and once I do my comp on 3rd of Dec I'll rep out some Bench for you boys :pfft:

Cool great to have you on board BeastBuilder. Show us how its done, if you've already got the vids on your PC or on youtube, chuck them up here, In internet Warrior category it all counts. Don't forget to add what bodyweight you were when you did them too.

You are welcome to do just 1 or 2 events if you like. But you are not eligible to win an overall title if you don't compete in all 3 (unlikely but possible).

Have played around with feet and hand position and found out I still Suck at dead lifting

There is no requirement to pause and reset between reps when squatting and benching but just for you I'll pause between dead lifts next week and repost

Hurry up and post some of your epic deads bro =P~

yeah you're right i do have a reasonably close grip. And yeah, always had a tendency to bench like this, although now i make sure i do wider grips as well so i feel it in my chest a bit more

stronger lifts than mine beast (got 7 reps of 190 for deads again lol) Mirin' deads hard. How long have you been doing squats and deads for, and whats your 1RM for deads (no belt straps if youve tried)?

Hey bro, you still got some good lifts ! Cheers though :)

I started doing Squats and Dead about half way through last year and i could squat like 40kg and Dead like 80kg-100kgish, i was one of those teenage light bulbs who never did legs, or even back for that matter :pfft:

I'm hoping for 260ish come Comp time on Dec 3rd, looking like that'll work out nicely too !

yeah i reckon if you can do 12 reps of 200, 260 should be pretty attainable. i got 240 for 1 rep and 5 reps of 220 a couple of times at the uni gym, which has chalk. Amazing how much of a difference it makes in terms of grip. Without it the bar seems slippery as f*ck. I had to adjust my grip on every single rep even with 180.

haha yeah i used to only train upper body (i'd go for runs too though). Only started deadlifting in july this year and started squatting about 2 months ago. Wish id started earlier :(

Yea I kinda wish I'd had more time to translate reps into 1RM strength, but all goods, especially given that when I started 5/3/1 at end of June my 1RM on Deads was 210 :pfft:

Yea chalk is awesome, I think basically everyone at Eastside down here has a thing for chalk, just love getting it everywhere !!

Dam good effort so far then if you already got 240 bro, guna have a massive dead soon enough, and squats will come along, took me awhile to get them and I still have a weak squat, wanna get it massive !!

Thanks OB

You know there is no age cut off for this comp too if you're interested in showing the younguns a thing or two :poked:

Trained arms today and decided I would tack on another effort at the bench challenge.

Cracked out 165kg for 8 reps at 113kg (250lb)
