wouldnt the carbs in cottage-cheese be a bit counter-productive?

Not necessarily!

4 grams of carbs is not going to kick you out of ketosis.

my bad i forgot the 'lite' cottage cheese has minimal carbs

The opposite, 'lite' usually has additional carbs, replacing the removed fats.

Hence the reason why a product described as 'lite' is usually worse than the original.

it depends on the product/food type i guess, i remember looking at lite cottage cheese and being surprised by how little carbs it has. Lite yogurt generally has less sugar/carbs than normal yogurt as well, but for ice cream and a lot of other stuff what youre saying seems to hold true.

edit: looked at your link and i see that brand of lite cottage cheese has extra carbs. i think i looked at the medowfresh one. ill check

how many calories is that total?

I did keto for ages, works pretty well but it is really just a calorie defecit, you're just taking the calories from carbs rather than overall. you still have to keep a close eye on calories for it to be effective.

Im 6'2 and currently weigh 104 kg lifting 5-6 times a week with no cardio. Daily caloric intake to maintain my weight would be around 3800-3900 per day.

This diet i posted is around 3100 - 3200 give or take ,

Have lost 3.2 kgs so far and been with diet for around a month with 1 cheat meal per week every sunday as my last meal of day (legs on monday so definetly burn of some of those calories) ,with no real impact on energy with the lack of carbs ... yet will stay on this diet right up till new years , want to get to 96-97kg at anything less than 10% , currently sitting around 15-16% bf

what stage of your diet would you benifit the most from this sort of diet? start middle or end?

and how long would u keep it up for?

cheers guys

definetly after a strong bulking phase. depending on your metoblism, me as a mesamorph im staying on this diet for around 12 weeks , just up till new years :P . if your new to lifting , i wouldnt worry as this type of diet doesnt build muscle mass, this diet is for burning fat, so dont expect to see much if any strength/muscle gains while on this diet. You need the muscle to begin with to really reap the benefits of this diet or other wise you will just end up looking like a malnourished skinny c**t (IMO)
