Plenty of body swing in those bicep curls, not the sort of form

I would of expected. Lets see him against a wall doing curls at that weight.

Why?

His arms were 23+ inches. Who cares what his form was like if it acheived that goal?

Just saying BBing is all about outcomes - I'm fucked if I'd go tell someone with arms 4" bigger than mine how to perform their arm exercises!

Different if he was a professional strict bicep curling competitor (I'm sure theres such a thing in the US! :pfft: ).... or a PT LOL :pfft:

TWL - I couldn't view the videos at work but you had me at Kevin levrone > everyone else

Its an isolatation exercise right? Well lifting like that you can hardly claim that you are lifting all the weight with your biceps is all I'm saying not too mention risk of injury. I'm not a PT but do stick to strict form where psossible.

As above I cant view the video, does he claim to be strict curling it? If so I see your point. If not & he's just training then I say let the guns do the talking!

Agree with Nate and TWL, nobody mentioned anything about he was using 100% his biceps to perform this lift, he was just lifting the big ass dumbbells. Even if he was using his ass cheek muscles to help the lift so what? its stil impressive and hey he's got awesome arms.

At some point in your bodybuilding journy you will find to progress further you need to find your own form not the TEXT BOOK STRICT FORM, your form, what feels natural to you and helps you lift bigger weights.

You'll hardly ever see a good pro using what is considered good form and thats not because they're lazy or trying to look good by lifting crazy weights, its cuz they know their bodies, they know what works for them.

Text book perfect form is crucial for a newbee to stay safe and learn how to feel the body works but once you're a bit more advanced and have a good feel for what feels right to your body then create your very own perfect form

Kevin he da man

it's called a motorbike, and I've done it at a company I really hated during my early 20's on my last day (the toilets were hardly ever cleaned too...you'd expect more from from one of the top IT companies too....)

I've seen heaps of Kevin's videos and his form is always not what I was told to do...but then again like everyone here said, the man has the physqiue to back it up

Good post man. Yep, I agree ... textbook form is only so good... it may help you set a benchmark as to whether you can do a particular exercise with a given weight, but it's not necessarily the best ROM or movement pattern to build muscle. We're not powerlifters, after all... (well apart from SG, who HarryB has incidentally threatened to declare as dead lol).

Another example of this would be to watch Ronnie Coleman benching (or Phil Heath), they work the middle 2/3rds of the ROM most of the time to keep tension on the target muscle. It's not cheating, it's training smart (when it's done properly!!!!)

Isolation is a stupid term. You can't isolate muscles they work in unison. Tricep pushdowns double as an ab exercise and the adductors of your arms are working like mad to hold you arms at your sides while you do them, I was always told it was an isolation exercise but if oyu think about it logically it's not none of them are.

Don't be a youtube form critic too many already exist.

sometimes people act as if 'form' is like another sport component in bodybuilding like 'yeah but he does it with shit form' i'm like can you fucking do it with 'shit for'?.....no phaggot you cant so shut your fucking mouth. its not a competition for how strict your form can be. the biggest man wins and like i said earlier its not about how you get big just that you do.
