do you have the lumps ? i got gyno from puberty aswell, i got the lumps about the size of a pee but they just disappeared just curious coz i have slightly puffy nips, but then when cold my chest looks nice and tight, starting to wonder if the puffyness was from the gyno

Puffy/Pointy nips yeh. Been thinking about waiting it out, but I cant take it anymore. Wearing hoodies and Kathmandu vests to hide my chest. Taping the nips so I can wear a t-shirt. And going to the gym and noticing im the only one with gyno. Why Me! .Feelsbadman.

How old are you, ComeAtMe? How long have you had it?

From memory, I think something like 50% of guys have pubertal gyno to a clinically detectable level, and 10% have it to a level that they notice. Sometimes it goes away of its own accord.

18yr. Had it since I was about 14yr.

I'm in that 10%.

Everybody tells me to wait it out and that the surgery is a waste of money. But you only live once.

there is gyno and there is puffy nipples not the same thing.

I have gyno/breast tissue which causes my nipples to puff out from my chest.

I have the same thing and it has been a real confidence downer for me since teenage years and I'm 31 now and only just realised it's a recognised condition. My advice is if you can afford it then get it sorted, I would and it would have saved me years of silly anxiety about it. I know it's only a small thing but things affect different people in different ways. I read on the internet that its removal can be funded in New Zealand. Does anyone know anything about that?

From The Gyno Topic:

If you've got surgical insurance, and the gyno is painful, then surgery may be covered. You'd just need to get your doc to write a letter recommending it as the best course of treatment.

Surgery's no magic bullet though - ultimately hacking it out is a pretty crude way of fixing the problem, no matter how skilled the surgeon is. Give letrozole a try first. At the very least it will halt the development of further gyno, and it may just reverse it.

EDIT: Talk to an endocrinologist first though. Letrozole may cause a temporary rebound effect on your estrogen levels when you come off it, which is the last thing you want, so you may need to follow it with a SERM such as Nolvadex.

Interesting topic as I think I probably have a mild case of this too. I'm only 20 now but was a bit fatter than the normal kid throughout puberty and have noticed since then that I've had like puffy nips. They're not usually a problem (apart from the visual side of things) but they have some strange lumps under them and when I give them a slight squeeze they're painful as hell. Its always been one of those things that makes me awfully self concious. Never knew until a few weeks ago that it was possible to get throughout puberty.

Oh and I remember once in my first years of highschool squeezing my nipple and white shit coming out..am I a women?notsrs.

but srs,

Wondering now if there's any chance of doing anything about it (apart from surgery as I'm far too poor, its not super major on my priority list and I'll be too poor for plenty more years to come).

My gyno was painful at first when I was about 14yr, but not anymore. could that mean anything?

The gyno is painful when it's growing. It just means that your glandular lumps are currently dormant.

give this a read through: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gynecomastia
