Target Gyms

I asspecially liked the part where the trainer from cityfitness said that there are no difference between the machines and free weights. Guess she got her qualifications in a lucky packet

You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard this from trainers, it's fucking ridiculous! I once had an argument with one who was convinced that machines were not only equal, but superior.. I just gave up and walked away

What gyms did they test?

City fitness, Les Mills and ?

Jetts.

WOW Les Mills is expensive.

I missed the show, what was on the seat test? other than gouch lol

Link to vid is a few posts up. They swabbed the seat and were given a general bacteria rating.

I haven't seen the vid, can't watch it on my Internet connection, but I can just imagine that that swab test could be very unfair if they didn't have the conditions right. Did they take it first-thing in the morning before anyone got a chance to use the equipment at least?

Agreed, but they didn't say. Just had a note saying all tests were done by an independent company...

The bacterial count shouldn't alarm anyone. No one rides the bikes naked.

Jett is pretty cheap, even though it hasn't the range of heavy lifting gear.

Not a bad start to training, if a newbie was concidering a palce to start, to get a feel for working out. No contract and 20 bucks a fortnight.

I couldn't get over the difference in price range. $10/week for jetts up to $30/week for les. insane.

that and you get 247 access to Jets.

I had to raise an eye brow with the machines do the same job comment. mechanically they may do the same major muscle groups but stabilisers?

They have manned security cameras, so I think it would be picked up befoe opening :P

You kinda get what you pay for with Jetts vs LM though (although I think LM is a bit tooo pricey.)

Jetts is basic, machines, some free weights, and small changing areas.

LM gives you access to all classes bar RPM, plunge pools and saunas, more of a range of equipment bla bla.

Weird that they chose cityfitness though, heaps more gyms around with more of a name..

I could just imagine how disgusting they were, having sweaty ass on them all day not everyone wipes them down either.

Did they test the rags that they have to wipe down the gear?

I bet those rags are full of bacteria. You think your doing the right thing

wiping down afterwards but if the rag is filthy you are just spreading the bacteria around even more.
