Abs

Although training abs directly still has its benefits.

For example, people get bad pain in the erectors from squatting and deadlifting but training abs can actually ease that pain. People would say "Learn how to squat and deadlift properly then." But that's not always the case. I'll probably train abs during my offseason because it's still a muscle and I believe should still be worked directly from time to time.

My favourite would be crunches. It's easier to do and easier to feel the pump. But leg raises are a goody. There isn't much else you can do really.

GTFO!

If you want the Aesthetic look, just do side bends with the heaviest dumbbells in the gym. That's how you get shredded obliques! (OP, don't actually listen to that.)

A really good way to completely cut up those ab muscles is to do 10 sets of 100 rep crunches supersetted with 10 sets of 100 rep hyperextensions to failure, then go for a 1RM deadlift! Yerrr buddy!!

Too far.

ok.

hahahahha lolololololol

honestly too much direct ab work will result in thick abdominals and its only gonna make your chest and back appear smaller. it depends what looks your going for really but if your wanting ab definition i think things such as weighted cable crunches and weighted decline crunches etc are going to = the best development. like i said too much and they will get too thick. and remember if your too fat you aint gona see no abs.

heavy weighted crunchs 8-12reps. far and away the best exercise for ab developement IMO

i've never understood why people trained abs so differently to every other muscle in their body - they still respond to hypertrophy training like anything else

Personally i find decline weighted crunchs, then superset with hanging leg raises or planks to hit them best.

I prefer prone ab holds on a swiss ball and balance exercises on swiss ball like squats on them.

Abs are for holding your core tight while you lift heavy shit. So practice holding them tight.

Why the f*ck would you want hypertrophy in your abs? nobody ever lifted their wounded buddy back into the humvee with a set of razor sharp abs!
