water for $19.99 a kilo

anybody else get as angry as me when upon returning from the supa with block chicken breast/thigh and find that the majority of the purchased mass is water. im sure some juice is normal but it seems ridiculous to pour away about about a cup and half of liquid from a mere kilo of chicken.

can anybody suggest where to purchase good quality chicken from?

Despite the flack they usually cop for this I think Pak'n'Save chicken is pretty good, at least the one I shop at.

expensive price for a kg of breast and thigh??? :shock:

pick out the fresh packed breast and see the packets before you buy them. or use a butcher and buy what you need.

quess its just a case of buying a load when its on special and nice loaded full of 'chicken juice'

im about to head to my local countdown where they serve chicken deli style, going to polity ask them if i can hold the chicken before weighing them then SQUEEZE THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF THEM, hell may save myself like 2 bucks and giving the attendant a great story to tell her buddies.
