Thanks for posting this dude, you are probably a few years too young to rember when Shawn was competing but he was phenominal!

Always been my favourite Bodybuilder because of his amazing physique, intelligence, business acumin and professionalism onstage(conditioning/posing/presentation)

12 Years in the top 5 of the Olympia at a weight of 202-211 odd lbs and 5 foot 6 or 5 foot 7.Giving away 30-60lbs to most of the other guys.

Runner up to dorian twice in 94 and 96. IMOI still think he should have won in 94. He looked ridiculously good in those two years as well as in 99 I think. Odd how he lost a symmetry round to a guy with a badly torn bi?

I think this is off his Final Countdown Video where he breaks down his training and eating philosophies.A great watch and a good lesson in that he was almost totally self reliant e.g he didn't use the latest diet/training or pre contest coach, he just did it all himself.Training partners were welcome as long as they fit his scedule, which is what you would expect from a top 3 athlete. No real protein shakes shown in his eating, just good whole foods.

Also very critical of his own physique in this saying that he looked acceptable/satisfactory but not good/great and that he needed to be more ripped - the sign of a great athlete, ruthless in their self analysis and always looking for areas to improve.

Still very strong as well (inc dumbell presses off season of 160-180lbs), full range of motion and quick yet controlled tempo. On a side note, Also a great natural athlete who recently had his High School Football jersey number retired due to his records being so untouchable.

IMO if the 202's had have been around in Shawn heydey he would have genuinely been unbeatable, with those lines and mass in the right places, along with Flex and Kevin an uncrowned Mr Olympia IMO.

Check out his 99 Olympia routine in HD, he wasnt quite as big as he was in 94, but looked amazing, perfect posing and very close to a perfect shape.

So true Musclenz, his legs, in particular his quads and hamstrings were just ridiculous. Also when he hit his "relaxed" 1/4 turns to the sides his serratus and intercostals were like an anatomy chart. What always impressed me was his ability to come in in such fantastic condition every year. He was never really off the mark onstage, never less than 99% of his absolute best. Very mentally tough to put in the yards to look that good every year!
