Dear bulkers,

In all seriousness.

I'll try & remain equally austere

Can you tell me with a clean conscience that one of the main reasons you bulk is not because you are lazy & prefer the easy way out?

Umm no. Eating hard all day to bulk isn't easy or my idea of fun. 8 sessions a week at the gym and structured eating 7 days / week can hardly be considered lazy.

Do you feel ashamed when you tell someone you lift weights & go to the gym everyday? I guess no one knows you workout looking like that?

I'm picking the traps & arms are a giveaway despite me not having a full six pack to flash around in the changing room. Maybe the 6 big biscuits on the squat & DL bar give away the fact I've been in the gym before?

Do you dislike the clean, ripped look of a lean body?

No its sexy, more girls should try it

Do you think people respect you more because of you overall 'mass & size' ?Do you think people respect you for being skinny brah? I'd be ashamed if I thought the way to earn people's respect was through the way I looked.

Jokes aside aesthetic or not I give credit where credits due. Whether thats credit to genetic giftedness or for hard work ethic I dont think I factor 'the look' someones going for into my decision.

As hard as it is for some people to admit, getting as 'aesthetic' (or just ripped) as JR or NZhredder takes hard work, but so does bulking to 147kg like Steak has done. My 10 cents

Dear muscle 99,

do you use the excuse of staying in shape and maintaining your "aesthetics" as a reason not to lift anything heavy?

does squatting scare you?

do you dislike the look of a powerful physique?

do you think people think you are "awesome" cos you are lean?

Ridiculous eh? Kind of like what you wrote.

Ok so im nowhere near gorilla status or even being remotely lean. (175cm 84 odd Kg)

Girls are 1 of the reasons I decided to lift weights along with being pretty ashamed of my Fuc#ed up Chest/Ribs. but when I go to the Gym I don't go to accuire the Aesthetic look, I go to get big and push as much weight as I can when I can.

Aesthetics alone are for 1, a total fagg who couldnt pull anything if he didnt have that "lean" look.

2, A total tool that needs to learn how to cut a rug in town instead of standing in a corner trynah eye every girl as they walk past.

(exception if you are apart of the NZBB community \:D/ )

Come at me brah

You made my top ten worst posts of the month list

Apart from being attrocious reading, surely if someone wants to aim at "aesthetics alone" its a personal choice.

I'm the same height as you and 30 kilos heavier and don't see a problem with it? Kind of wondering why you do? Maybe something to do with your original motivations for lifting "being pretty ashamed of my Fuc#ed up Chest/Ribs"? Serious question by the way - reflect on it!

Even if someone is 70kg soaking wet but lean as through dieting their ass off its still an acheivement, not something I want to acheive but an acheivement none the less. In fact without being intentionally controversial you could say aone of our top BBers was 'aesthetic only' and won our premier title, MR NZ

Each to their own.... don't judge lest ye be judged.... and all that stuff! :pfft:

Dear bulkers,

In all seriousness.

You sure?

Can you tell me with a clean conscience that one of the main reasons you bulk is not because you are lazy & prefer the easy way out?

Yes, bulking is hard, can you tell me with a clean conscience that you are constantly lean because you are too lazy to lift heavy and eat like a horse?

Do you feel ashamed when you tell someone you lift weights & go to the gym everyday? I guess no one knows you workout looking like that?

No, everyone can tell because we actually look big in a shirt instead of looking like a 10 year old pre-pubescent school girl.

Do you dislike the clean, ripped look of a lean body?

Yeah but prefer the clean, ripped look of a lean, BIG body.

Do you think people respect you more because of you overall 'mass & size' ?

Like I said before I lift for reasons that are intrinsic, not to try and impress anyone else but yeah people respect the effort it takes to get big just as they respect the effort it takes to get shredded and they respect even more the effort it takes to get big AND shredded

I guess thats what happens when you get bored at work  .

In all honesty my Pectus Excavatum was the main reason for me wanting to lift, not just to make me look better but to try and expand my ribcage to take some of the pressure away from my internal organs.

I never like taking away the achievments of others and realise any goal achieved by an individual plays a big part in the way they act/look at life! and hell as soon as I can bench 100kg you can bet your bananas im going to let everyone know \:D/

I'm the same height as you and 30 kilos heavier and don't see a problem with it? Kind of wondering why you do?Im not quite sure how this question is aimed at me? If you could elaborate i'd happily answer  .

I apologise now for the post=P Should have thought about what I was saying and actually post on a topic that I really have an opinion on!

Good explanation bro, we all have different reasons for training - kind of my point.

No point worrying about my weight/height comment, was just a reference to your stated size, and comments seemingly anti towards smaller 'aesthetics'. Moving on!

And when you hit 100kg on the bench video it & post it for the world to see. 2 big wheels each side is a milestone for all up n coming lifters!

Dear 12yo girl,

In all seriousness.

Can you tell me with a clean conscience that one of the main reasons you don't bulk is because you don't know how to eat properly and put on muscle, so instead you stay 70kgs with abs

Do you feel ashamed when you walk around in a t-shirt and it looks like you have never seen the inside of a gym because you have the frame of a 12yo girl

Do you dislike trying to get bigger stronger and more muscular?

Do you think people respect you based solely on your body image alone.

Its ok bro you can take off your shirt and post pics on the net so other guys can tell you how ripped you look!

i'm 5'11 83kg.. started at 58kg. you think i could have done that with pushups and a diet

no hate man, but i went from 85kg-90kg doing only pressups, 14kg dumbell curls, situps and lifting 40kg bins of fish. i know your question was rhetorical, but yeah i think what you said that i quoted would be acheivable

See this is a major problem. Height/weight only reveals so much.

5'11 83kg 8% on my frame is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT physique to 85kg on your frame. If you're curling 14kg dumbells @ 90kg bodyweight - the quality of your overall physique is going to be low (No hate)

I have put in 2 1/2 nearly 3 years of intense dieting and a 6day split in the gym - i truly don't believe i (or anyone for that matter) could achieve my physique with pushups and chinups in their garage.. not trying to be arogant.

Epic post. Its what i've been trying to say this entire time put into one eloquent post.

Just because our goals are different doesn't mean we can't apreciate each others achievements. When i see some of the huge guys in my gym going for their 7plate deadlift and 5plate squat - i stop dead and 'mire. cuz its fucking impressive - sure its not my goal, but i can apreciate how damn hard they worked to achieve it.

edit: oh and someone else mentioned it - bulking is a hell of a lot harder than cutting. When you simply aren't hungry anymore and have to chew your food and swallow it with water to force feed yourself - this isn't enjoyable.

previous to that i was doing 25kg dumbell curls but i kept getting sore elbows and forearms so i dropped the weight and upped the reps. i did do 11 sets of 30 reps though, with the 14's, and for pressups i had my feet up on a chair and used my dumbells as grips so i could go as low as possible, did 11 sets of 30-40 reps for that.

So what are your stats now? height weight bodyfat? if you managed a solid physique with a few curls and pressups i assume now you're in a gym your physique must be amazing?

do you have any full body shots?

No, i do regular squats & front squats. Effective exercise!

do you dislike the look of a powerful physique?

Yes, it could be both a lean person or a not quite so lean person.

do you think people think you are "awesome" cos you are lean?

No, I'm lean but there's always room for improvement. I am no better than anyone else in this world

Ridiculous eh? Kind of like what you wrote.

Umm no. Eating hard all day to bulk isn't easy or my idea of fun. 8 sessions a week at the gym and structured eating 7 days / week can hardly be considered lazy.

Personally I think it requires more effort to lean bulk. I have both done lean bulking & full out bulking. I agree that it's not fun eating heaps & heaps. I think lean bulking takes more effort & discipline. Weight training 4-6 days a week usually (i don't want to speak on behalf of everyone though.) Eating every 2-3 hours, counting calories to some degree, recording possibly. And of course the cardio sessions.

People only see this if they are in the gym with you.

Haha agreed!

No mate, I asked this question because I'm trying to understand bulkers, that's all, I thought maybe it was possible the answer might be yes.

Jokes aside aesthetic or not I give credit where credits due. Whether thats credit to genetic giftedness or for hard work ethic I dont think I factor 'the look' someones going for into my decision.

Don't be a hater! But yeah agreed lol

Fixed

Aesthetics is what I aim for, I'm quite lean, defiantly room for improvement on everything.

I've got nothing against bulkers, I just don't no why someone would do it.

Dude, you have completely misunderstood me. I know how to eat properly & build muscle just like you do. I'm a lean 75kg with abs. Everyone starts somewhere & I'm growing so all is good

Do you feel ashamed when you walk around in a t-shirt and it looks like you have never seen the inside of a gym because you have the frame of a 12yo girl.

Here's a tip. You look more muscular when your lean. The easiest way to LOOK like you have gained 5 pound of muscle is too lose 5 pound of fat.

Do you dislike trying to get bigger stronger and more muscular?

Nope, I am getting bigger & stronger, I just choose not to get fat at the same time

Do you think people respect you based solely on your body image alone.

No not at all, body image doesn't really alter my decision of how much respect I have for someone. I look at the person themselves.

Its ok bro you can take off your shirt and post pics on the net so other guys can tell you how ripped you look!

You'll never catch me do that bro.

A truly strong person does not need the approval of others just like a lion does not need approval from sheep.
