Gym Rat is coming to Wellington for the sevens and I got my tickets this morning.Looking forward already by checking out all the speights girls ,zm girls,Air New Zealand girls including the thousands of hotties they might check me out which would make me feel bit :shifty: .

Sells about that quick every year :nod: They usually release less than 10,000 tickets to the public (the rest to sponsors, corporate/hospitality packages, season pass holders from Wellington, and rugby clubs). On top of everyone at once being online to get them, there are always queues outside the ticket shops to buy them... and usually the first couple in line only get any (if at all). Not necessarily directed at you, but a lot of people are surprised that this happened today... it's been happening for years :-s

I remember waiting outside a post office for a couple of hours (got there nice and early thinking there was no way we'd miss out), maybe 4 years ago. Horrible wet/windy day, we were about 10th in line, there were also a good 50-60 behind us... and only the first couple in line got tickets. I think back then they used to release more to the public, too :nod:

If you can imagine the many thousands that want to go, and assume each person wants 2 tickets (I'd suggest most people go for at least 4!), then you only need 4,000 people online to sell it out, which isn't much!

For the past few years, I've just been waiting until a week or two out... or if I'm feeling really lucky, a day or two before for heavily discounted/free ones. Tickets always pop up amongst my mates around that time - usually on the Friday as a lot of people can't get off work so they don't mind giving that ticket away, and you can then pick one up off someone who is "too sick" to go on the Saturday :pfft:

10500 available this year, they only sell them on the internet or over the phone now. No queues at shops.

Yeah people always pull out at the last minute or something comes up and they can't go and they sell their tickets cheap just so they get some money back. So if you wanna wait till a few days before you can usually get a bargain ticket.

Yeah I did read that today - Stuff initially said 7k released :doh: Still, not at all surprised that 10k sells out that quick :nod:

True - had no idea about the change to no queues... guess it would've been a waste of time seeing how quickly they sell online.
