225kg/496lb Overhead Press

i consider reddings' 228kg press more impressive than alexeev's 230 as he refined the leaning press to a greater degree, this lift was eliminated from the olympics in 1972.

Out of all the vids this is probablly the most impressive, very little dip at all. pretty much powercleaned it and then a lightning press! Alexeev is still an impressive lifter, his iirc 500lb solid bar c+j has only just been duplicated by koklyaev

No comparison between a bar and a log, but yes, Klokov is a beast. That video will just be the Russians up to their usual tricks, 105kg lifters like Klokov bulking up to 112-115kg on test and dbol, before coming off before major competitions to clean and jerk approx 225 in competition. Nevertheless, incredibley impressive, Klokov has always been the guy for me who have never quite reached potential. Strict drug testing in the IWF has not helped his case.

Koklyaev, well, he's a freak. Unfortunately likely won't appear in the Olympics any time soon due to wanting to have his own coach (read: too much risk to federation with possible failed drug test).

Me? I just enjoy watching guys push the limits. Zavickas is just absolutely nutty on the log, he told me 220 in training. Koklyaev clean and jerked 260, trained hard on the log and yet 'only' hit 200.
