cycling around a show

Recommended Posts

firstly this is for people who cycle on/off..this may be a stupid question but i was just curious as to what you do with competition? for example if your cycling Test or whatever, would you plan it out so that the cycle stops 12 or so weeks out from a show or does it not matter? may be a stupid question but was just thinking about this last night at work.

No don't stop before a show. You do however lower the Test in the final weeks as DANIEL8 says (stay on Tren and Winny or whateva), but you don't go into a show "natural" if that's what you are asking.

You can build muscle during cutting and even if you don't build much you will def retain far more by having good Test levels during this cutting phase.

I don't know what others do, but for me it's less gear during a bulk than it is during cutting before a show. Bulking and excess food is so anabolic already imo.

I might be doing it allllllll wrong, happy to hear from others that do it the other way around, and would like to see the results of this, of course b4 I would try it.

yeah iv heard that off season is not the time to abuse your body, however when comp comes around thats when you thrash it. obviously not to the point of dying.

i think this is what people refer to when they say gear works better if you have a rest in between rather than abusing winstrol clen etc more than just before a show.

correct me if im wrong it wouldnt matter using test most months of the year even if you drop down to a lower dose?

Depends on your outlook on life and each of us is different in that regard.

It's usually healthier to let your body do it's own thing that it was designed to do I would have thought, but if it can't do that very well then perhaps taking exogenous 'whatever' is satisfactory.

You balance health against personal goals and aspirations on a daily basis when you are talking about steroids. You decide whether staying on Test for extended periods of time achieves those goals without "possibly" sacrificing your personal health to a level you are happy with.

Personally I find that because most serious bodybuilders go to extremes to look extreme, you sacrifice more than most when it comes to health.

agree. do pro's ever come off this stuff while they are in their prime?

i guess no one would really know?

i remember i saw a video of ronnie coleman being interviewd and he said every year he would take 3 months off everything. he was referring to diet and resistnce and cardio training but could also mean giving his body a rest from all the drugs hes on or maybe just cutting back i don't know.

You can talk to some Pros here in NZ if they trust you enough, they'll pass on not only what they do, but they talk about this stuff backstage with the American Pros at shows in Oz, NZ, and the States etc so you can get knowledge from the Olympias you see on stage and read about in magazines.

You won't get 'them' telling you unless you're of equal stature. They'll talk only to those that are near their level, have shown as much dedication as they have etc so don't think you can walk up to Kai and be like 'yo bro, what you doin' these days' LOL

But they talk, they share their knowledge among their peers. Don't discount everyone that says they 'heard it from a Pro' as BS.

You can also pay to talk to Pros like Dave Palumbo, Flex Wheeler, Danny Padilla (going way back), and they openly need to know what you're taking in order to give you advice. At US$250 - $500 / hour don't expect anyone here in NZ who's done that to share it for free LOL LOL. Do it yourself
