Just thought I'd do a wee roundup after doing a few shows the last couple of years.

Those who ran and run the best shows.

Mike Debenham (NZIFBB)

Mark Anderson (NABBA back then and NABBA/WFF now)

These guys do bloody good jobs of their shows and are a lot of fun to be in. Well organised, great prizes and the athletes are looked after.

Those who shouldn't.

NABBA (NAC)

Apart from the hard work of Susie Patrick (the ice creams were brilliant), the NABBA shows were as the name says - amateur. Why they have such a following in the Nth Island alludes me, because down here they are shockers. Andrew Murray and Maeve might be the exceptions.

What's appreciated - the free Powerades afterwards. When you come off stage hot sweaty and bone dry they're a saviour. Plus the free bananas some guys get along.

Best Format

NABBA/WFF by a long shot.

1 tan up

1 lot of mess

1 lot of pumping up

1 burst out on stage then all over (except for overalls).

Having to do compulsories, then go home / motel then come back a few hours later for a 2nd lot of all of the above is a pain in the arse.
