Cutting, determining your BMR

Hi Guys, ive just started counting my calories and was just wondering how everyone else counts calories.

How do you determine your BMR?

Men: BMR = 66 + ( 13.7 x weight in kilos ) + ( 5 x height in cm ) - ( 6.8 x age in years )

To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows:

•If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2

•If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375

•If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55

•If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725

•If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x traininga day) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

Also when you count calories do you count Protein(4cals), Carbs(4cals) And fats(9cals) at the specified calorie amount or something different?

BMR/maintenance calories is so individual these things are next to useless. If you are just starting to count calories and have no idea what your maintenance is, then it can be good to give you an idea of a number to start on. Then you can eat that for a couple weeks and see if your weight changes or stays the same and you can adjust from there

Edit: to be fair, just tried this one out and it gave me a reasonably accurate figure

Nobody take this personally, it's not  just an observation from all the forums lately.

WHY is everybody getting so bloody scientific about cutting????? It's very simple to do without counting calories..........reduce the crap in your diet. If your diet is good then take out extra sauces/flavor ect.

Like I said I'm not digging at anybody or the topics posted.

It did, but i wana see faster results? so im taking it to the next level and counting calories!

Faster results generally means more muscle loss especially as a Nat. Honestly faster does not mean better, in fact slow and steady will see you hold condition and muscle.
