cycling between bulking and cutting

heya

so ive just come off my first cut went for about 16 weeks and made some great progress with the bf. now i wanna put some mass on have been eating about 200cal above my maintance and have started a new workout routine. all my lifts have gone up stength and endurance wise.

im still doing cardio.. which is about a 45 min run 3 times aweek and 15 minutes of HIT after most weight sessions. im doing weight 5 times a week.

i have planns to do another comp in the new year my category has a weight limit for my height so i do want to put on a huge amount of muscle or fat. i am wonting to know has anyone had much success with doing mini cycles of bulking and cutting like 3 weeks bulk vs 3to 6 weeks cutting... or would i just be undoing all the progress i made durin the three weeks of bulking..

any advise would be great

cheers Jen

i would think that doing a long bulk and then cutting would be more productive in terms of muscle gain, but from what youre saying im thinking you dont want to gain much weight.

if you do the mini-bulk/cut thing then it will most likely be slower to gain muscle but you will look better while you are doing it as your bf % will be lower compared to if you just did a massive bulk

hey guys thanks for the input,

ive done some extra reading and most say bulk longer so i think ill go for like 4 to 6 weeks then cut for abit..

at the moment ive but 1 cm on my arms and legs in a week.. bf hasnt changed.. do you think im bulking to fast? or could this be some post comp gains im making.. whats are reasonable gains to be making per week?

cheers jen

or pumped up from being at the gym?

you want to make sure u take the measurments on the same day and around same time as when u last did them. also its hard to get an accurate measure as their are so many variables

its a good guide to your progress tho

rechecked my measurements this morning befor the gym.. sadly most have come down.. so think it may have been the pump after the gym the other night that gave me some false readings but serious 6 months to but like 1 cm on.. that totally sucks its gonna take ages for me to put on anything ..
